Get to know Culture Maker: Clarence Josey
“I was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Broward County. At a very young age I was drawn to photography through visits to my grandparents house. I was inspired by their photos albums. My grandfather actually gave me my first camera at 18, a Minolta SRT101. That camera never left my side. It was my way of documenting moments in my life. My friends allowed for me to continue to develop my passion and we’re always down to stand in front of the lens. I also drew inspiration from my fathers CD collection

As a photographer I want to shine light on the Black community and those who have been underserved by the industry. I want the art I compose to be a beautiful reflection of my people. I want black and brown people to represent black and brown people, the right way.” #MakeItMiami
