In honor and celebration of Juneteenth, we partnered with community culture maker, @unkleclarence, @origeechee_ and @historichamptonhouseofficial for a day of education on the importance of today for our community and the commemoration of freedom. Here’s a look at this special moment through his lens.

“Happy Juneteenth! I had the opportunity to go on a tour of The Historic Hampton House in Brownsville, Miami with @_jazz3. It’s located right outside of Liberty City. The Hampton House was the place to be, with frequent visits from Ali, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr, Sam Cooke to Jackie Robinson. Black people had a safe space to party, mingle, swim, enjoy performances by some of the best artist of the 50s-60s. Dr. King visited often in the 1960s and delivered the first version of his “I Have a Dream” speech at the Hampton House in 1960 before the beautiful March on Washington in 1963. We chose to shoot with Jazz in this location because alongside the Marlins we want to continue to shed light on places in our community that helped move our people forward.
