It is well known that some teams are better at spending their money than others. Teams like the Rays consistently spend in the bottom-tier of the league, producing incredible results. Other Big Spenders can’t seem to get it going. With a curiosity to examine this phenomenon further, I developed a method to judge this efficiency.
Defining spending efficiency as producing the best results with the least resources, I created a formula to compare these teams. Let me know what you guys think, and how this could be improved upon.
