Mackey says that the Pirates offer was “darn close” to 6 years and $80 million, while Reynolds is using Olson’s comparison and asking for 8 years between $135 million and $140 million. Mackey says that he thinks this can be a gap that can be closed, it ultimately requires the Pirates to be willing to do it and for Reynolds to want to stay.
