  1. Makes me think Ryans is like all but confirmed for DEN now. They wouldn’t let other top candidates slip without the confidence on their end given how some of them acted last cycle.

  2. Hallelujah.

    Not a fan of Quinn.

At the same time, the list of candidates is getting thin…

  3. Looking more and more likely that it’s just a formality after the 49ers play that Ryans is our guy.

    > Quinn was a top candidate for the #Cardinals’ head coaching job and also interviewed with the #Colts and #Broncos. But his heart is in Dallas and he wants to win a Super Bowl there.

  5. Allbright in shambles.

I think this means the coaching availabilities are basically set. I’m guessing Payton to the Cardinals, Ryans to the Broncos, Saturday or Morris to the Colts, Gannon to the Texans

  6. I’m not going to celebrate until we know for sure it’s not going to be someone like Shaw or Morris

  7. Quinn playing the long game and I can’t blame him. Dallas is a top job and he’s definitely going to take over for McCarthy when he inevitably gets fired. Makes me nervous though that it’s basically Ryans or bust. I’ll be pissed if we go Shaw.

  8. Ryans is most definitely the front runner now. Unless something changes with Payton’s camp or we re-cast the net, it seems like things are falling into place

  9. “His heart is in Dallas and he wants to win a Super Bowl there”

Boy, and I thought my retirement plans were unrealistic.

  10. So it is not so much that Ryans is the the first/best option but the only one left. Sounds about right for the Broncos.

  11. I think he knows he’s in line to be their head coach when McCarthy gets fired next year.

  12. I mean, who even would it be then if not Ryans, assuming the Payton deal is dead? Fucking Shaw?
