The #Panthers are hiring former #Colts coach Frank Reich as their new head coach, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. The organization’s first QB, he now becomes their coach.

  1. Good for Frank. Wish him nothing but the best…except when we play them next year. Gotta put that 💩 on primetime TV

  2. Hope he does well there. It was time for us to part ways, but he’s a better coach than a lot of this fanbase thinks. It wasn’t working here, but I don’t dislike him

  3. Good for Frank, he’s a good head coach who got the sort end of the stick here. I think he can have a lot of success if they can figure out the qb situation

  4. I’m old enough to remember when people on this sub thought he wouldn’t get a head coaching job and would have to take a coordinator role

  5. Give him a competent QB and he makes the playoffs. Give him Jacoby, Carson, or Matt and he still gets you to at least .500.

  6. I just want vengeance for the downvotes I got right after Reich got fired and commented that Reich would have no issue finding a new head coaching job this off-season when he was fired.

Dude is a solid coach. He pulled way more wins out of our QB-carousel team that anybody else would’ve been able to.

I think if Sirianni was replaced with another fire-y guy on the offensive coaching staff, the 2022 Colts wouldn’t have been trash and Reich wouldn’t have been fired. The team showed no fire or will to win this season.

  7. Surprised he got another head coaching job so soon. Not really sure what he showed with us that would make another organization think he’s a good head coach.

  8. Can you imagine if frank takes them to the playoffs next year and we end up with Saturday and still suck…😐

  9. Liked him as a person but coaching was a different story. Showed a lot of promise with Luck & Rivers with some great playcalls but after that…

I think he’ll rebound and be a decent coach in Carolina. They need a QB badly tho

  10. I’ll just Ctrl C + Ctrl V what I posted in the free talk thread.

Really pulling for Frank Reich to Carolina. His time was over in Indy, it had ran its course, but he certainly has talent and I think he’s a great guy. To Carolina fans saying you just need a QB for him to develop I would temper expectations. He never did demonstrate an ability to develop, but he did demonstrate he can work extremely, extremely well with cerebral quarterbacks. When he has someone who can see the field the same way as he can that dude is straight lethal.

    Edit: Yay

  11. Panthers fan here, checking in to see the general thoughts. Seems like the consensus is that he’s a good coach who has a tough situation.

He wasn’t my top choice, but I like him. Just wish he wasn’t 61 years old.

Fun Panthers history lesson – He threw the first touchdown in Panthers history as a QB way back in 1995.

  12. I think Reich is a good coach and used to think Irsay is a good owner. For a little over a year Irsay has been making every decision off of emotion – I am now convinced he is just a delusional billionaire that has had such a charmed life he thinks he can “trust his gut”.

His tweet about 2 lombardis this decade now reads like pure “laws of attraction” lunacy – I want him nowhere near football decisions anymore.

  13. This is a plus for us Colts fans. Depending on the contract with Carolina. We might catch a break from paying him. Now only if he could buy out the rest of Matt Ryans contract from us…. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|money_face)
