Maybe it’s naive of me, but why is it just assumed that everything being leaked is coming out of Payton’s camp?
Every other team’s fan base except the Saints has always hated Payton. Until they had a chance to get him, then they loved him. As soon as they think there chances are dwindling, they’re back to hating him.
Who cares?
With Payton’s market possibly drying up, I’m starting to do foolish things like imagining him coming back to New Orleans in 2024 as the savior.
tl;dr this guy likes the cataclysmic coaching tenures that have made the Broncos one of the worst franchises in sports for much of the past decade more than he likes Sean Payton because those guys were drama-free.
