One Year Ago Today, Darren Helm became an Avs Hero

1. What a fucking goal that Helm Scored and it was one that came out of fucking nowhere as the seconds were dying in regulation and we were all anticipating OT to occur.

   When we signed him to an 1 year contract we wondered why the fuck did we sign a fucking Red Wing as he was part of the last years of the rivalry to where he became an Avs Folk Hero that we came to love by scoring the Series Clincher and making it to the Western Conference Final for the 1st time since 2002.

   Also this goal happened on my 10th Anniversary when I created this account as well so that was fucking awesome to commemorate said anniversary.

3. I was stuck at Red Rocks with a friend from out of town who had been planning the trip for a while. Stepped aside to listen to the McGahee call down the stretch. Freaked several people out near the bathrooms when I lost my shit at the goal. What a ride.

8. Looking back , this series was the most nail biting and anxious to witness out of all the matches,because the bloos were a desperate team trying to prove their own prowess. I didn’t feel sense of danger with Edmonton or Tampa as I did with St. Louis. The goal by helm is something special.

    Nate’s coast to coast goal the game before was absolutely insane, highlight reel stuff but this is the one.

12. I remember I was sick at the time and happened to catch the last few minutes of this game. When Helm scored at the last possible second I jumped up and screamed, then proceeded to have the most violent coughing fit of my life. Still is pretty epic 🙂
