Back to Back Lonnie IG Posts

So the Lakers make back to back Instagram posts about Lonnie. On my last post it seems people are 50/50 on bringing LWIV back. Like I said I’m all for it. We can’t give up on our players that fast. Chemistry is just as key as having another star!

Only his first season with the Lakers. His first time on the big stage and he did pretty well considering he was benched for the first round and majority of the GSW series. Memorable Game 4 is stamped as the Lonnie Walker Game.

Denver simply out played us so I’m not blaming Lonnie for underperforming in that series. I believe he will come back better & motivated!

At least one more year. I don’t think he’ll want to miss the opportunity of making another deep playoff run with us. Which I know will happen next season. Especially if it’s possibly Lebron’s last season with us.

  1. He’s not a good player. Anything more than the minimum would be an overpay. Even then I’d prefer to keep him out of Ham’s hands so we don’t get more 3 guard lineups

  2. If we do end up running it back, someone needs to lose minutes for Christie and I think that’s going to be Lonnie. So I don’t think it’s worth paying Lonnie $7.7M or so to keep him. That $7.7M could be the difference between signing a player at the MLE vs TPMLE.

  3. For guys like him, it depends. If keeping him prevents the Lakers from getting an upgrade I’d rather let him walk

  4. I liked him a lot but the money isn’t really there for it. And I would rather try to keep Troy anyway

  5. Bring the kid back.

He was benched for no reason half the season. Then showed out in the Playoffs when his # was finally called. If that doesn’t scream grit, selflessness, confidence, character and hard work idk what the fuck does. How you not want this kid

  6. Too bad there will be a Lonnie exit post coming from us soon too. I don’t want to see him go by any means atp but I don’t see how we’re going to keep the fella. At times Lonnie was **MUCH** needed though during our late-season/post-season run and he was a breath of fresh air sometimes after DLO had been in and put together one of those horrible DLO compilations he’s known for putting together in a short amount of time but has the ability to make you feel like it’s been going on a whole eternity or for 4 quarters and it’s only the 2nd.

  7. He can’t shoot or defend. I like him but he was non existent in our rotation post deadline minus the warriors series. I feel our cap is best spent elsewhere

  8. Lonnie is a nice young project who played really good early in the season and straight up won a playoff game, he has a role if he can develop.
