  1. TL;DR for anyone interested, Dame is asked if he wants to get traded to a contender and responds that there is no certainty that he’ll contend at a new destination (points out Westbrook to the Lakers), especially since any team that trades for him will have to give up significant assets.

  2. Interesting to hear the ONLY time he thought about whether portland was still the right fit was when we got knocked out of the playoffs against the nuggets. It makes total sense though and it’s honestly gut wrenching to hear how determined he was to get to the finals that year. Our team sold so bad that series but it’s super comforting to hear how he answered the question “October 24 will Dame be in Portland?”. That man is staying and I’m still a believer he’s going to get us a chip.

  3. Not much new here. Speaks tons about boxing. Gets asked about his situation in Portland. Replies with what he always does, “I love the organization/it’s my dream to win in Portland.”

    Couple of interesting tidbits:

—He notes that it would take a haul to get him to another team, limiting destinations.

—He’s excited about young dudes and speaks on scoot and Miller (not in terms of the blazers, but as American players).

—Speaks on CJ saying this is the summer Portland trades dame. dame tells a funny story about how he just saw CJ and they joked about it.

—Doesn’t fully believe that trading him to a super team is an automatic route to a ring. Says health wise, there are too many variables

    Pretty typical stuff.

  4. Not a whole lot of news here, but still its always so refreshing to listen to Dame interviews. He doesn’t really dodge questions, or say all the typical things. Loved the story about eating sushi with CJ.

  5. The most interesting thing to me was how aware he was of the CBA and how it will impact parity. He’s not halfway in with the roster construction conversations, he’s obviously thinking about it a lot.
