[Tom Pelissero] The #Vikings and four-time Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook are parting ways, per source. One of the NFL’s most dynamic playmakers, Cook is coming off a fourth straight 1,000-yard season and has 52 career TDs. Now he’ll be a free agent at age 27 and will have multiple suitors.

1. They’re also currently shopping their best pass rusher, & traded their second best pass rusher a few weeks ago.

   They play 7 games that aren’t 1:00 starts. We know how Kirk does in those games.

   They have arguably a top 3 talent in the league at wideout but I think it’s fair to expect some regression out of them this year. Especially with how many close games they pulled out last season. That luck can’t last forever. Still expect a more competent defense with Flores as their DC but they’ve lost some serious talent. 7-8 wins range for me.

2. Minnesota lost a lot of dudes this offseason. Kendricks, Theilen, Za’Darius Smith, Cook and now Danielle Hunter is holding out too. They were/are all a little past their primes, but ya love to see it.

   Their new GM seems like he might suck too. Awful first draft, and I feel like it was a really weird move optics wise to drag this thing out with Cook when he killed his body for that franchise for years

4. I can NOT understand why the Vikings would keep Hockensen at $10mil over Cook at $10mil. That’s not meant to be shade at hock. They are just a different caliber of player.

14. Rumor is that the Dolphins were after him before the draft and had a trade proposed but it fell through. Then the Dolphins drafted a RB so they might not be interested anymore but was watching the McAfee show yesterday and they were saying the Dolphins might still be interested. Not sure why they would their RB room is stacked barring injury.

    I would think there would be several teams still interested other than his shoulder he should be healthy.
