Last week, PHNX published an op-ed titled An open letter to Arizona Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo from a group of PHNX Sports Diehards: ***An open letter to Arizona Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo from a group of PHNX Sports Diehards: ‘We need to hear from you”*** In the article, it talked about how silent Alex Muruelo has been, and how the fans needed to hear from him after the Tempe vote. At the time, it wan’t something I wholeheartedly agreed with. After the Doan newds today, we absolutely deserve to hear from him.
We need to understand why Doan, who has ALWAYS chosen the Coyotes, was allowed to walk away. We need to hear why ([as Craig reported](https://twitter.com/CraigSMorgan/status/1667011648710918144)) the most important person to the franchise was made to feel like his role was ceremonial. Why wasn’t he offered the same Assistant to the GM role for the Coyotes? Fuck why wasn’t he named President of Hockey Ops?
This is not me saying that Doan has some insider info about relocation. What I am saying is that Mereullo has almost zero public confidence after staying silent after the vote, and he just let the one person Coyotes fans trust walk out the door.

The one guy who we will absolutely 100% NEVER hear from is Alex Meruelo. We may hear from Jr. But most likely, Xavier Gutierrez is the only person who will address the Public/media. The only thing that we may hear is wishing Doan well. Doan was never going to get this opportunity with this organization. So, I doubt we will hear anything from Meruelo directly. And as we’ve learned with Gretzky, he was the Great One on the ice. Off of the ice? Eh…
This ownership group has run this organization into the ground. Fans should be outraged. Had the team acted in good faith with their prior suppliers and especially with their previous arena deal then I highly doubt that the Tempe opportunity would have fallen through.
