[Rapoport] This is true. The dramatic return of the Supplemental Draft! The league has informed the clubs that it will be Tuesday, July 11. One player has been confirmed to clubs as eligible as of now, #Purdue WR Milton Wright.

  1. Don’t you basically give up a pick for the following year to draft someone in the supplemental draft?

  2. Hmmm… interesting.

He can run an estimated 4.5 40 time, body wise he looks the part of an X/Y WR. Had he been eligible to play in 2022 with an okay season he would likely have been a 2nd – 3rd round pick.

I feel like if we are kicking the tires on DHop, then throwing a bid out on Milton too might not be a bad idea. The academic ineligiblity is a red flag, but if we could pick him up for say next year’s 4th (as we don’t have our 3rd) I wouldn’t mind and at the very least gives us actual depth at the position though on our roster currently he’d likely make it as a starter opposite Burks.

I don’t think I’d approve of using next year’s 2nd however as next year’s WR draft class looks pretty solid at the X/Y position, meaning we’d probably get better long term value taking a WR then instead.

  3. Maybe bid their 7th but they’re too short on picks already to give anything higher for a guy who didn’t excel and can’t get himself academically eligible.
