[Nightengale] MLB is investigating cyber-hate messages directed towards the 13-year-old nephew of Arizona #Dbacks OF Tommy Pham. Pham had a verbal altercation with #Padres fans over the weekend in San Diego, with #Mets owner Steve Cohen and D-backs manager Torey Lovullo coming to his defense.

I hate humans so much
Wow, dude. Padres fans need to chill out.
People on Twitter are degenerates
Probably someone from Padres Twitter. Easily one of the worst social media fanbases in the league.
Why in the world is MLB investigating this? Surely this is either a matter for the police to investigate, or not a matter to be investigated at all.
Unless it’s MLB players sending the cyber-hate messages, which would be unusual.
Serious and unfortunate situation, however, “Cyber-Hate” is a very funny term.
Padres fans on the loose, giving Pham’s nephew the abuse, THATS WHATS IN
Sending hate mail to a 13 year old is so lame
cyber hate messages wow I hope the kid is okay
Imagine how much of a fucking loser you have to be to send hate messages to someone who’s barely a teenager.
Haha, just walk away!
That’s not what’s in
As a Suns fan, I know from experience that there is nothing more toxic than the fanbase of an organization that has championship expectations, but turns out only mediocre.
Padres fans really need to back the fuck off Pham.

Man, Pham can’t catch a break lately. He puts himself in kinda weird situations but they always turn out way worse than he deserves.
I would like to apologize on behalf of the normal Padres fans. Shit never used to be like this before 2020ish. This fanbase has gotten WAAAAY worse in the last few years and I hate it
What the actual fuck
I think Pham is charmin ultra-soft but going after his family members is extremely uncalled for
I can’t imagine hating on a player so much you go after their family. I mean even just DMing a player to talk shit is a bad move, but this is a whole new level.
Padres Twitter may have Mets Twitter beat.
This would make me have a short fuse with fans. Can’t explain this away as coming with the territory of being paid millions of dollars.
A lot of Padres fans have a weird irrational hatred towards Pham. As far as I know, he really didn’t cause any problems when he was with the team beyond not playing very well. But when I was at the game against the D-backs on Friday, a large contingent of folks in the stands were yelling at Pham, mostly mocking him for getting stabbed in a strip club parking lot when he was with the team. How do you hate someone so much that you’d mock a traumatic event simply because they didn’t play well for a team you like. Shit’s unhinged.
As a die hard Tommy Pham fan since yesterday, this is heartbreaking.
Damn. That’s horrible, fuck those people and fuck anyone who thinks sports are a reason to abuse anyone in any way.
Also that’s a great cue to get off baseball social media/Reddit for about a week. More toxic elements of the fan base are being wreckers. Pads flair will automatically make me “one of them” until this blows over. A person is smart/people are dumb, or something like that.

Saw 13 y/o and figured this would be about Wander
Stay classy San Diego
The toxicity of some fans is insane.
I don’t want to dismiss the hate messages players and their family members get, but they get ***a lot*** of hate messages, especially after poor games. How does the league expect to look into them all? Something must be egregious about this particular instance.
WOW dude. SMDH I am not a fan of the guy but padres fans having it out for him is the dumbest shit, like why? He played fine for us. And on top of that, the Joc slap, while not justified in the slightest, was something he did because he was defending the Padres from something Joc said! For fucks sake, total idiots
Always keep family out of this thing of ours 🤌🤌🤌
Did Tommy Pham not have issues in NY?
