  1. The velocity uptick was there in spring training. It’s too bad we didn’t have Odorizzi, Otto, and Kent healthy early this year to be the long man instead of Ragans. They seemed hesitant to move him either to the major league or AAA rotation, or at least gave him higher leverage relief appearances. Instead they stuck him at the nebulous long relief role, where one or two bad appearances in SSS tanked his ERA.

Wish we could’ve been more patient with him but ultimately not that worried long term. Two TJs already for Ragans, and throwing the gas he does is definitely an injury concern

  2. Regardless of Chapman’s couple of off performances, where would we be without him right now?

You gotta give up guys to make moves. We don’t need another Profar situation.

  3. Unfortunately if Cole Ragans was still here, he’d probably still be pitching once every week or two out of the pen, or down in AAA, and our coaching staff allergic to pitching development wouldn’t have fixed whatever the coaches in KC did

  4. No we shouldn’t have. Chapman has struggled recently but been really good for us most of the year. Ragans was ineffective in the bullpen this year so he really didn’t have a role with us
