[Derrick Goold] Adam Wainwright will not start Sunday at Busch as scheduled vs. #Pirates, pushing his pursuit of No. 199 back so that he makes one more start in Atlanta, one last time against his first team and in his home state. Exact day TBD.

  1. I get the nostalgic effect of pitching at home, but if it’s strictly to get him to 200 he’d have better odds of winning most likely against the pirates than the braves.

  2. Passing up the chance to start vs the Pirates in favor of facing the… *checks notes* Atlanta Braves. Welp, I guess Waino has accepted that 200 isn’t happening at least.

  6. Ugh, really? Against that lineup!? He should come out for the minimum number of batters, get an ovation from the crowd (if ATL fans want to) and tip his cap, and then the real starter comes on. He could get absolutely savaged by the Braves and they aren’t going easy. They still have a lot to play for. They have a healthy lead for #1 seed but don’t what the Dodgers to catch up.

    I wonder how many fans won’t show up at Busch now knowing that they won’t have a chance to see one of Wainwright’s last starts.

  8. Ugh, I had the choice of going to one of the games in Atlanta and saw he wasn’t pitching so picked Wednesday night’s game. Got tickets behind the dugout. Would’ve picked Tuesday had I known.

    Edit, just saw exact date TBD… here’s hoping it’s on Wednesday haha
