Goldy is a lot of things, but he certainly isn’t clutch.

Bednar is one of the baddest dudes in the league

I’ve tried really hard to stay somewhat positive throughout the season. But the level of play over the past few weeks has just been straight up depressing, no other way to put it. I’ve never thought watching Cardinals baseball would be a waste of my time but lately… yeesh. It kinda has been.
2023 Cardinals: 58-78
1990 Cardinals: 61-75
The 1990 Cardinals lost Game 136 to the Expos, 6-2. Starter Jose DeLeon was touched for six runs in five innings. Rex Hudler was a triple shy of the cycle. Bernard Gilkey, in his second big-league game, had his first hit (he was 1-4) and his first run scored.

This pitch is actually reasonably well executed. 3-1 count, definitely don’t want to put another baserunner on and it is pretty low and inside for a strike. Not a lot of movement on it. However, Palacios getting low enough to get a bat on it, getting the bat on plane to hit that up in the air and getting his hips open enough but upper body staying back enough that this ball isn’t pulled foul? That is a pretty decent piece of hitting. AND he came into the game cold off the bench and did it.
Sucks that it was given up, but sometimes one has to give credit to the other team’s hitter and say that that was well done.
Who tf is John King? Is he outperforming his norm or is he just good?

I cannot for the life of me understand Marmols insistence on using verhagen all the time.
I didn’t want to even think it. But we may lose 100 games.
Some good things to take away like Jordan Walker’s performance, and the team showing a little life to come back.
But overall disappointing due to more blown saves, and lack of timely hitting with runners in scoring position. It doesn’t even matter at this point but still feels shitty shrug 🤷🏻♂️
If Dusty Blake is still our pitching coach next year he better learn “The Claw”.
