[Curtis Allen] PSA: The #seahawks now have $57million cap dollars invested in the safety position for 2024. $58million if you include Coby Bryant. 22.8% of their total cap. Just saying.

  1. If you’re not at least adding how that compares to other teams in the NFL, seems like you’re not saying anything…Just saying.

  2. yikes! That Jamal deal is just worse and worse by the day. Think of where that money could be spent on the DL šŸ™

  3. We have expensive players that we have restructured the contracts on to create future cap space. It’s not like that’s their aav.

The people who are upset by this are the same ones who wanted us to restructure contracts in order to create cap space lol.

  4. Yea, this is a huge gripe for me. Irresponsible allocation of resources for a non-premium position. Imagine what this team could do with allocating even just half of the safety cap hit to the LOS. The team would be objectively better.

Unfortunately, this is just one of those things with Pete where you have to take the bad with the good. The guy can’t help himself with DB’s. Pete is the only coach in the league that would dare trade 2 first round picks for a strong safety. It sucks and it’s detrimental to the long term health of the roster, but the guy just absolutely fucking loves DBs.

  5. And we have two starting corners on rookie deals to offset that. By the time we need to pay those corners, we will be free from the safety money.

    Fans are silly.

  6. we would need those 10 Jamal Adams sacks to even get back a portion of that value lol. 60 million into a position that other teams are only paying 10MM is crazy

  7. Everyone makes such weird excuses but yeah it’s too much money for a not important position. People can say ā€œwe spend less here so it’s fineā€ but that’s just a horrible excuse like ā€œit’s ok we waste our first round pick on scrubs because we draft well laterā€. It’s like a cult in here.
