Judge backs Boone to return as Yankees’ manager: ‘He’s the guy’

I wouldn’t expect anything less from judge he won’t talk bad about anyone
Man, I know opinions of Boone on this sub are varied, and I go back and forth myself. But if your bell cow is saying this I don’t know how you do anything. That said, I wonder what he’d say about Cashman…
Wait, our classy captain didn’t publicly shit on his manager? I’m shocked.

Maybe he’s sincere. Even if he isn’t, the face of the Yankees’ franchise isn’t going to publicly bad mouth his coach. It’s also not his decision so why would he say anything inflammatory?

Judge’s verdict: not guilty
Your first major league manager is a lot like your starter pokemon. Yeah, it’s sitting in Box 1 because it evolved into something ugly, but you still have respect for it.
This makes me believe that through and through Boone isn’t a bad manager, it’s the FO’s decisions and coaching. Judge hasn’t stuck his leg out for anyone else but the guys in that dugout. (Actually idk if he’s done the same for the bench or base coaches but still you get what I meant)

What do you expect him to say? Boone’s the ultimate kiss ass player’s manager, of course the players like him. That doesn’t mean he’s a good manager.
I am not surprised at all being that Boone got so many ejections backing up Judge when the umpires couldn’t get the strike zone right early in his career
Then Judge and the team better play as hard as they can to save his job. Somebody has to fall on the sword if we miss the playoffs.
I don’t love Boone, but he’s nowhere near the main problem for this franchise. He’s a totally fine manager, it’s not his fault Cashman gave him a pile of shit to work with this year.
Glad to see Reddit and Twitter users know better than Judge who spends 8 months a year around Boone. I’ll definitely take their word.
I mean what do we expect him to say? “No, the manager currently running the team I’m on that’s making a late playoff push shouldn’t return next year”? Of course he’s backing his manager.

I mean, we had a horribly constructed roster filled with aging and underpreforming vets, a terrible hitting coach, and two massive injuries.
I can’t blame Boone for this season despite not fully liking him. Just like with Hal. The blame is 95% on Cashman.
He was already coming back anyway. Hal and Cashman will spend all off-season saying next year will be different because of the kids, and he’ll have his latest built in excuse to not spend any money.
This is a nothing comment.
He’s not gonna publicly throw his manager under the bus. Judge is too classy for that.

I get it. Handholding, pep talks, ride or die loyalty and hoo boy does he let the umpires have it! All stuff the players like every bit as much as the club massage therapist. Bit more to actually being a manager trying to win though.
I think Boone isn’t the issue. There was structural things going into this season that were above his paygrade. Boones job is to put the best team on the field that he can with the players that he has, not build the entire roster.
Cashman and company are responsible for that.
If Boone is well liked in the locker room by the players, then the players attitude towards the guy *should* factor in on a decision like that.
Judge chose this question and his answer to be public, I wonder if there was a question about Cashman too that Judge didn’t want to go public 😅
