  1. Continued:

    > Lawrence’s base salary is currently $2.25 million. Okereke is at $1.9 million. A standard conversion for both just to create a bit more flexibility for the upcoming season. Lawrence and Okereke’s base salaries will now be down to the minimum at $1.08 million.

  2. Giants had $1.5m of cap space before the conversions the last 2 days. They need the extra cap space to make it through the season. if someone goes on IR and you gotta sign another player that costs cap space. Usually you want about $10m. If i recall Joe Schoen was asked about not putting some player on IR and he said he did not have the space to replace him. I do not remember who it was.

As an fyi, they tried to extend Adoree this summer, but he declined. He appears to want to hit free agency.

I dont know how much cap space the Graham Gano extension creations? Guessing about the same ? So now they have $4.5m-5m of cap space. that is enough for maybe 3-4 guys on IR.

  3. Can someone explain what this means? Why not do this with every player if it creates cap space? Not familiar with contracts
