Was trading Bones Hyland a mistake for the Denver Nuggets?

We won a championship and he was a locker room “cancer”. Why is it being analyzed now? It’s obvious.
Na. Bones is talented but definitely not a team player. He’s the kinda guy who will be a great tank commander for a bad team. Get his money, fill up the scoresheet with inefficient stats and not put in any effort in on defense.
I loved bones but from what they said, the damage could not be reversed.
Tbh Nuggs didn’t end up needing TB (obviously we only know this in retrospect). Bones could’ve been out of rotation and had another summer to try to imrove
How was it a mistake when we literally just won a championship lol? We clearly made the right move in moving a player who didn’t buy into the culture and wanted to be flashy
Yes, maybe if they kept him they could have won the championship
There’s nothing they did that was a mistake leading up to the championship they just won.
My god, this is still a topic? We won a chip and we got rid of a player who was entitled and a cancer for the locker room. The veteran core coupled with the draft picks is a lot more valuable for a guy who could tear everything down. Oh, did I forget to mention we won a chip without this guy?
Shit article without even reading it.
This article says multiple times that Bones was a “great player for the nuggets”
Kid had great moments but in no way was he ever a “great player.” His severe inconsistency alone took him out of the “great” conversation, then add on top of that his detrimental attitude…. When was he great for more than a quarter of a game?
The way the current Nuggets are constructed – a ball-dominant guard who is a defensive liability isn’t a good fit. Good player, just not for this team.
I think it worked out alright… and at least Reggie doesn’t mind sitting quietly on the bench looking at his ring.
Would’ve won the championship if they kept him
Zero defense, not coachable, and 40% from midrange = career backup (at best). I’m a VCU alumni (where Bones played) and I’m not pining to unwind that trade.
Bones was considered a good pick just last season. One season later everyone wouldn’t be surprised if Bones is out of the NBA in a few seasons. The perception of young players changes very quickly
Bones has the talent to turn himself into an awsome 3rd guard, but I can also see him being out of the league in 3 years, he can shoot but takes ridiculous shots can’t defend maybe he turns into a professional but the nuggets are in win now mode and he wasn’t helping last year I’m not sure he’s ready this year either
No, he was a distraction we are in win now. Wish he woulda stayed, but his defense was a problem. And he would have taken minutes away from guys like Braun
What?
Why are we still asking this question? Lol no, we are better off without him, and he is better off without us.
