What’s the worst Bears game you’ve ever seen?

  1. I went to Field’s first game in Cleveland – and this hurts worse.. I had no expectations before – but WOW…

  2. The NFC Championship Game we lost to the 49ers in the 1988 season. Home field, arctic temps and gusty but the 49ers just dominated, 28-3.

  3. This one wasn’t that bad. For the first time in years, I thought they had a good chance at beating the Packers, I thought with Moore and Mooney they’d open up the field so we could see what type of passer Fields is. Halfway through the second quarter I thought “well, at least Love sucks, too.” That first drive in the second half I thought “c’mon, you can’t feel that bad, deep down you knew this is what you were going to get.”

Probably the worst for me was week 1 2018 after blowing a 24-3 (or something like that) second half lead against the Packers. Before today that was the last time I dared to hope we could beat the Packers.

  4. 38-3 loss to Tampa a couple years ago was the worst game that comes to mind. But like most bears fans I’ve sat through MANY ass whoopings. Today sucked

  5. I was at Bears Packers in Green Bay 2014. The score was something like 30-3 at half, and it was around then I realized this team is always bad.

  6. The last year that Trestman was the HC there were 2 games that the bears got absolutely blown out. It was after the bye and it was the packers and the patriots. The games looked like the bears were a high school team

Then there was the one game cutler got sacked like a dozen times in a half against the browns.

This team has been a joke damn near my entire life, I don’t know why I would expect anything else

  7. Philadelphia game under Trestman where they gave up a 50 burger. Just an absolutely colossal beatdown that was already over about 2 minutes in.

  8. December 12, 2010. 36-7 loss against the New England Patriots. Absolutely horrendous playing. Plus it was -6 degrees and snowing. I froze my balls off.

  9. Patriots,2010. Spent nearly 4,000 dollars on row,15,:50 yard line. We get the shit beat out of us, I freeze my ass off, and it snowed about 6 inches during the game.mAnd then we had to make the trip back which which takes six hours including leaving the stadium, getting on a bus, riding the bus to the train station, waiting for the train, getting off the train and driving. Luckily it was lake effect snow and we didn’t have to drive in a snow storm 4 hours.

  10. Bears lost to Tampa Bay in 2022 (the U of I season) 15 – 0, TB kicked fucking field goals. That was the game.

    Absolutely terrible football.

  11. I don’t want to pull “oh you sweet summer children” on some of the takes today, but I have to say, some of the darkest dark years under Trestman left some scorch marks on my fandom. That game in 2013(?) where there was a live ball and not a single Bear made a move for it?? which — I think – was near to but was also not the fifty-burger game??

Today sucked – a lot – but for me doesn’t hold a candle. (There’s still plenty of time for things to get worse, I suppose!)

  12. The one where Rodgers left the game after getting smoked by us in the first half and then coming back and blowing us out the water in the second half

  13. There was a game against the Packers where it was rainy and was like 42-7 at half. Can’t remember the year, all the ass kickings kind of blend together.

  14. So I don’t think it wasn’t THE worst Bears loss ever (I still am old enough to remember the Dick Jauron era… also… Trestman…), but I was at the 2019 Bears vs. Packers so it’ll always stick in my mind.

NFL came down and setup NFL town in Grant Park. It was the grand opening of year 2 of the Nagy-Trubisky era, and hopes were high that THIS was finally the year we beat the Packers.

The hype was palpable. There was a buzz in Chicago like I hadn’t seen since the Lovie era.

And boy oh boy, were we going to beat them on the opening night of the NFL on National TV. The offensive guru and the kid. Vince Vaughn gave an awesome intro video to kick off the game (which I can’t find anymore sadly).

It was going to be a great day! I caught a punt return in the little NFL village camp! My friend kicked a field goal!

And then… Aaron Rodgers was Aaron Rodgers.

The walk back after the game from Soldier Field to Roosevelt Station was… just quiet and sad…

  15. 2014, Bears-Dolphins. That team was SUPPOSED to be a playoff team. It was just before the Bears shit the bed against the Pats and Packers in back to back weeks.

All that talent (Cutler, Forte, Marshall, Jeffrey, Bennett) they were fuckin awful. That was the year I finally was done with Cutler for good and I knew this team wouldn’t be shit again until the McCaskeys sold the team

  16. Well, I believe next week’s game will be the worst I’ve ever sat through. Each new week is the worst.

  17. This was brutal on multiple levels. It wasn’t just the offense. The defense left guys open ALL fucking day. That 3rd quarter hurt to watch.

  18. I am early forties, been a fan the entire time, and this game was definitely up there. I honestly can not think of a worse one.

You see, back in my day, the Packers were our rivals. These Bears-Packers games meant something. It hasn’t been that way for a long time it seems.

Seeing everything that I saw today, at home, against our one time bitter back and forth rivals. I mean what’s worse?

DJ Moore looked like a spoiled brat.

Our defense looked like an absolute joke. Barely pro-level. We had one tackle for a loss that looked good. Otherwise nothing.

Justin Fields is definitely not the guy. That train has left the station. Enough with the hype. Enough with the die hard defenders. He looked terrible. Every aspect of his game. Those pathetic runs. Those even more pathetic passes.

In one game we solidified all our worst fears about the team, at home, against the Packers.

Sorry everybody. Two-Three years before we maybe have a competitive football team…. again. At home. Against the Packers.

  19. The NFC championship against Green Bay, and the double doink game still haunt me to this day.

  20. Nah, I was around for the ’60s. Papa Bear knew what he was doing, then he let Dooley (.375) & Gibron (.268) run the team consecutively.

  21. The late nineties / early 2000s Bears were way worse, gang, with even less hope. Keep your fucking heads up.

  22. This is seriously the worst one I’ve seen. I looked at this team as a 7 to 10 win team, depending how things go. Never did I imagine it would look this bad, literally nothing positive to take away, all of it was shit. It’s made even worse by the fact it was fucking Green Bay. And it’s even worse because it was Green Bay with mediocre qb play.

  23. IDK. 2014 Patriots game, where Lamarr Houston tore his ACL celebrating a sack against a backup quarterback, where they lost by 28.

  24. I am enraged. I’m a 42 year old woman with PMS and this game made me want to just stop watching the Bears altogether. There were a few glimmers of hope but the D and O line were abysmal beyond my wildest dreams. They should be ashamed and Getsy, idk. Shakes head.

  25. The Packers game where Aaron Rodgers had like 5 or 6 TDs in the first half. Then we proceeded to get murdered the week after by the Pats.

  26. I went to a Halloween night game back in the late 90’s. Worst weather I ever experienced. Every kind of precipitation you can imagine was coming down like cats and dogs. Cold as fuck. The game was over by the first half. Favre absolutely kicked our asses in.

They were honoring Butkus and maybe Sayers at halftime but nobody was out there because we were all miserable and hiding from the weather in the promenade and mezzanine areas. We left less than halfway through the third quarter.

  27. Everyone seen Roschons energy and playmaking so I assume we will see very little of him going forward, atleast early in games. Flus will want to make sure we don’t have a chance before putting him in

  28. Monday Night Massacre on Halloween in 1994 against the packers. I actually skipped Halloween as a ten year old to watch this game. Side note it seems that every worse game that we ever play is against the packers 😔
