It’s almost like all teams will try this until flagged

Watching a replay of the Bengals game and noticed their RT was lined up behind the C waistline

Not the Bengals!!!!
The refs are always out to get them!!!!
Jawaan Taylor and also what the Eagles are doing with their QB sneaks are just the most obvious examples of all teams pushing the rules as far as the refs will allow. It’s going to take a league-wide memo about a “point of emphasis” on the rules and then them actually calling these illegal formations in order for this to actually change. Until they do, teams will keep pushing and they all absolutely should. Something may be “against the rules” but it’s not actually a penalty if there’s no flag.
I thought it was the helmet that had to be past the C’s waistline… not the entire player.
The patriots neutralized our pass rush doing this in the 2018 AFCCG.
The constant false starts are what to me was the bigger miss call
Lol oh man why did we have to be the opening game. Oh well, I would take a week 1 loss as the only game on every year if it came with a Super Bowl win as the previous game lol
Teams were doing this bullshit last year, I watched multiple games where the tackles were basically in the backfield and moving before the ball was snapped. Everyone is losing their minds on the Chiefs simply because Taylor was one of the worst offenders and that we have gained a lot of haters.
If they start flagging it, I will be happy, however, I know they won’t be consistent with it, and it’s going to be some bullshit.
This has been a thing for years. It’s not even like Taylor is a long term player for the chiefs. This was his first meaningful snaps for us and he has been doing it his entire career. People will find anything to complain about because of who the chiefs are. I wouldn’t give it more thought.
I don’t understand why they made such a big deal about it on the broadcast. Tackles have been doing that for as long as I’ve been watching football, and the whole “he’s tipping plays!” BS was also dumb, since that’s not unusual either. The only thing remarkable about Jawaan Taylor’s technique is that he anticipates the snap better than just about anyone else so he moves first.
I noticed this yesterday and thought to myself, “surely this will anger fans just as it did when the Chiefs played!” You can imagine my absolute shock when no one brought it up!
lol, I was thinking this in every game I watched this weekend.
Also “How dare they let them do that all game and then call it at the end” WAAAAAaaahhhh!!!
😛
What advantage does this give? I always thought it gave offense a bit of disadvantage especially if you got DL like Kevin Williams or Kris Jenkins
