If you check out the giants sub there’s a lot of folks calling Thibs a bust. Hutch looked good Thursday night but I still haven’t seen enough from Hutch to make me think we made a mistake drafting Travon 1.01. Travon showed pass rush improvement yesterday imo and will only get better. Double digit sacks otw
There’s a lot to like there. Hopefully, he’ll be our guy. It’s nice to see the highlights, since it can be hard to notice him in the heat of battle.
It still seems like more often than not he gets there too late to meaningfully impact the play. The play either still happens or there are already dudes there getting the job done, and he is more of a helper. This mashup does an excellent job showing that. To be clear, I’m NOT saying he sucks.
I know Walker is big (275 pounds according to wiki) but it looks like he is moving through molasses every time
Braden Smith really couldn’t match up with Walker for strength. Hopefully, Walker can turn into our Cam Jordan.
Gotta shout out Ledbetter and Blackson on play 3 for absolutely stuffing the Colts OL.
looks like a lot of last season. winning his reps but cant quite make it home
Definitely some positives here.
One thing to remember is that the Colts were running their offense to minimize Richardson’s time sitting back. There were a lot of quick passes, a lot of first read throws.
The short time, combined with Richardson’s mobility, makes for a tough time rushing a QB.
That being said, it did look like Walker used a push pull technique a couple times so it seems like he’s not relying on just a bull rush 100% of the time.
His stunt where he bull rushed the center left a bit to be desired. It was great to see that much strength out of Walker but it gave Richardson too much time to find a check down.
Not a bad first game to my eyes though
Walker’s gotta learn how to transition his power into other moves. He’s still mostly a bullrusher.
He was GREAT yesterday. He’s already dominant against the run and it is obvious he’s getting better every week rushing the passer. Can’t wait to watch him play the rest of the season.
I still feel he’s being played at the wrong position. He should be an interior rusher instead of an edge rusher.
