C Chukky Okobi (2001-2006)

Chukky Okobi was selected by the Steelers in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Purdue, where had been a Second-Team All-Big Ten selection. During his time in Pittsburgh, he mainly played back up to center Jeff Hartings. He’d earn a ring with the Steelers in Super Bowl XL against the Seattle Seahawks, and then go on to spend some time with the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans.

Since retiring, Okobi has worked in the entertainment industry. He collaborated on projects with artists such as Pittsburgh Slim and Margot B, and was produced by E. Dan, who is credited with launching Wiz Khalifa’s career. He launched his own rap career with the song “Buctown!” about the 2011 Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s also appeared in commercials for ESPN, Campbell’s Soup, and the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Today, Okobi works in neuro-linguistic programming with his company, Basic Instructions, to assist athletes, entrepreneurs and business executives elevate their performance as a mindset coach, helping them work on their mental and emotional states to achieve success. He’s a frequent keynote and motivational speaker.
