Kristaps Porziņģis says his calf injury is, “Something. Not nothing.” He said he will have to progress smartly to ensure he doesn’t reaggravate the injury. He experienced this injury earlier this year but said this one was “Worse for sure.”

So sounds like definitely out for the second round (which we already knew). Probably out for the beginning of the ECF, and maybe the entire series depending on how the Celtics fare (if the Celtics are beating NY/IND easily, we probably won’t see him that series).
I definitely think he would be back for the finals, although I’m not a doctor.
Hoping for the best. We absolutely need him to beat whoever comes out of the West.
No bueno.
‘Worse for sure’ is like the last thing we wanted to hear. We were all looking at that less than 2 week timeline earlier in the season and hoping/expecting it to be around that amount of time
without KP Orlando has potential to be annoying and rebounding becomes a problem vs the Knicks but if we draw Cleveland and Indiana it should be smooth sailing to let him chill till the finals
This now becomes the team they had last with Jrue instead of Smart and a better bench
If he does come back I’m bringing him off the bench so he can feast on second unit bigs plus it’s tough being out then dropped back into playoff intensity games
People really were downvoting me in other posts for saying we’d be lucky to get him back by the finals. Well here you go. Giannis was never close to returning. Durant rested 30 DAYS after his calf strain and immediately tore his ACL upon return. I don’t want Porzingus out all of next year if that’s the risk. It’s a shame but this is the risk Brad took when trading for an injured 7 footer and now we’re paying the price.
Well hopefully if we can make it past the Knicks he can maybe play in the finals. But I had this same injury in college and it was prob 6 months before I was 100%.
Not at all surprised. I was hoping he’d be back for ECF if we get there but not you gotta just hope finals (if we get there).
We can def win the east without him. Al, Tillman and Kornet are gonna have to step up but it can be done. And this means more shots for D White which we can all agree is great.
The remaining east teams are heavily flawed and/or injured. Knicks are prolly gonna be our ecf opponent and they’re gonna be worn all the way down with how thin they are and how many minutes Thibs has to play them every game
Just have to hope he can come back at some point during the finals if they make it there. Even that might be a long shot, unfortunately. Non contact injuries are the worst.
Honestly I think we can get past Cleveland or Orlando without him.
In ECF we can get past Indy or NY
But in the finals we will 100% need him or else it won’t be the outcome we want
In Kornet we trust. I hope he’s back for the ECF, if we get there.
fucking a
Look at Giannis. He said he wasn’t even close to being back and he got injured a month ago
I think he’s done for the year.
Hate to be blunt but I’m not gonna take any soundbites seriously for another 2 weeks. Every recovery is different
