The Suns NEED To Get This Right
don’t take my word for it just go do the research there’s always a guy in that 20 to 30 range that you’re going to look back and be like [Music] damn sons did a good job with tamman Kamar as far as evaluating what they did last year that was a hell of a pck so that’s that’s something to build on um maybe maybe you don’t include him if you have a g League because you know be able to develop that correct correct you know if you look at that Warriors team that won their last championship you saw the development of Jordan p on that team Jordan P was a g-league guy that was out there in that Golden State system doing a lot of stuff in the G League before he got that deal and had that year with golden state where he’s at now that’s a whole different story but um there there’s reason to believe that this can work and I I believe in this draft I don’t like the draft at the top but I do believe and you’ll see this in every draft don’t take my word for it just go do the research there’s always a guy in that 20 to 30 range that you’re going to look back and be like damn how did that guy now this is where the Suns have to hit they have to be able to find that guy it’s not that difficult you you you got you got the 22nd pick I value the hell out this pick and and to Gerald’s point I I’m I’m fascinated with the opportunity of potentially taking 22 and maybe something else and moving a little bit up into the draft Maybe around that 15 right at the edge of the of the lottery because I think the best player in this draft is going to come out of the top and uh after the top 10 I really do um this is just a weird draft suns have a chance to get a pretty damn good player there’s some guys out there first Ronnie James number 15 to the Phoenix Suns according to K uh look I there’s a lot of opportunity I think we all agree when it comes to uh to young guys and using this as as a real way to find some talent and and really make things better for this franchise long term and I don’t think there’s any negative you know when you look at adding this and trying to change the mindset of finding younger Talent Lou Dort was another name that was mentioned in the chat who went undrafted and had an immense amount of success so now you’re kind of in in the game to try to find those guys and have a spot for them to learn you don’t find guys in the G League to you won’t you won’t find undrafted guys that that have zero heart that will be a part of your franchise like everybody that comes from the g-league or has to fight to survive to get a spot they’re doing it because they got that dog in them like there’s plenty of got L dortz obviously they not doing for the money yeah L dorts one of them I remember um uh what’s his name from Pinnacle uh Nik Manion when he came out and I was just like I don’t think that’s a good call man because dude if you don’t make the roster getting drafted 48th overall or 44th overall like you’re going to the g-league and if you if you go to the g- league I just didn’t believe that he had the game to make it out he made it out for a few games and now he’s not even I don’t even think he’s in the g- league anymore he was playing for Milwaukee for a little bit and now he’s a part of team team Italy but so it’s like you got to be careful you got to know what you’re doing these guys that you’re researching you can’t be researching off a name and talent uh or reputation it’s got to be see you identify that you know can contribute to your team real quick there’s a guy Coleman Hawkins fighting a Lon ey I watched him in the combine I love this kid he’s probably gonna go undrafted he he’s gonna be one of these kids that’s probably goingon to go undrafted and I’d be fascinated if the Suns use his G League opportunity to get a undrafted guy like that the guy is Big he can play the three the four the five he’s got point guard like skills unique traits that if you just throw them into that system and work with them you can find something so that’s the stuff I want to see the Suns do more

First and we should draft bronny

This isn't as hard as we are making it out to be. We know that the big three are staying, and that most likely we will try to bring back the bench. I don't see lowry leaving his hometown team to take a vet's minimum here. The same can be said for any potential free agents we choose to pursue. Would they leave less money on the table to come to a team in a backup role knowing we had an embarrassing first round exit? Highly unlikely. We are very limited in any trades we can make that improve our team to a point we can realistically compete. We could try to trade nurkic but i'd keep him for now and look at getting a backup. Could we trade gordon or little for a pick? Possibly but both of them regarding trade value is at an all- time low. We aren't solving the problem in free agency or through trades yet. This leaves the draft. More cost efficient and we can add a guy or guys to fill our weak spots ( kolek, carrington, comche, bona and ware) rather than gamble on an aging vet that may not feel like listening to the coach or embracing the system. To be honest, looking at what we currently have to work with in thomas and lee as our pointguards off the bench i'd much rather have kolek or carrington. When looking at power forward and backup center, i'd easily choose bona, comche or ware over young and eubanks. James jones said that he was going to embrace the anti sam presti model for drafting and player development because he wants to win now and in the future. Well, does anyone here think the suns currently have a better team or future outlook using jones model? We now have a G- league team. We need to use the draft, evaluate and develop young players. We have the coach we need to implement a system and new culture. Now add player development and scouting. We need to have a complete organization without question marks.
Comparisons- kolek – jalen brunson/ steve nash lite. Carleton bub carrington- caris levert/ dejounte Murray. Adem bona- bismack biyombo/ serge ibaka. Ulrich comche- theo ratliff/ serge ibaka. Kel'el ware- jarrett allen/ dereck lively. DaRon holmes 2nd- kurt thomas/ richaun holmes ( better offense). The suns could use this draft to find some great bench players or potential starters down the road. Get younger, more athletic , improve overall on the defensive end. We should be drafting young guys that fit system and need to play behind and learn from our vets and big three. This is the way we stay in the hunt year after year and improve while keeping continuity and chemistry. This is the way…
