[Music] all right Nick let’s talk about the Kansas City Chiefs reigning back to back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs as we’re leg legally obligated to tell everybody about but the Kansas City Chiefs are a team Nick that I think this entire year as we’ve seen Patrick Mahomes be you know the super superar he is Travis Kelsey the Superstar he is what comes with those things Chris Jones also on this list you have to pay higher contracts get guys more money and as you get more money you have to start being more creative to solve your problems and the Kansas City Chiefs I think have given themselves a reputation of being very creative of how they solve their problems and how they build their roster and there’s no different when it comes to the new special teams rules let’s get into the article and we can talk more about on the other side actually a tweet over from Pete Sweeney it says the Chiefs are serious about having Justin Reed or Luis ree zamit kick off they were working there today special teams coordinator Dave tube said that as they watch the XFL they noticed the kicker involved in 25 to 40% of tackles and they don’t want that for Harrison bucker probably a good idea for him to not be going out for tackles I think this is really smart decision by the Chiefs to once again find a creative solution for a problem that has now announced itself Nick I’m curious what your thoughts are on the chief’s idea here but Chiefs fans in the comment section below what do you think about this idea who do you think the kickoff kicker could be for the Chiefs I know we all seen Justin Reed kick the ball a time or two and he’s actually kind of impressive at doing so but also Luis re he brings some you know added Wiggles into the game being a former rugby player as well let us know your uh thoughts on this in the comment section below but Nick what do you think about this idea by the Chiefs you know I think this is a great example of why the Chiefs win and why they’re the favorites to repeat again it’s because they make really smart moves like this let’s go ahead and pull up an image of the new rules so that way everyone who’s not familiar has something to just look at and get an understanding of why it’s so important and we’ve seen everyone Under the Sun this offseason from guys like Bill Bell check to a assistant special teams coaches trying to figure out and solve this problem and everyone’s reaction has been very simple it says listen because of what you have to do with the kickoffs you’ve got to change how you structure your entire roster you need bigger guys instead of smaller faster guys on special teams right it’s a changing Dynamic right we’ve heard reports of kickers I believe uh the kicker for the Green Bay Packers could have been somebody else I’m going off memory here was complaining no it was the Bengals excuse me uh mcferson was complaining that this new kick KCK off rules he had to completely change how he does kickoffs and it’s a completely new thing he’s trying to learn and he’s trying to figure out and it’s taking a lot of time and effort everyone Under the Sun seems to be scrambling the Kansas City Chiefs are just like okay we’ll just take a defensive player and we’ll have him kick off for it and he’ll learn how to do this he already knows how to kick or or’ll let the rugby guy do it I mean it’s one of those things where the answer was so obvious it’s so simple take a defensive player or a guy who can tackle and have him learn to kick off in this area the reded area you see on the screen there on the right side right that’s not too incredibly difficult right these are NFL athletes and Reed has certainly proven it this was the easiest solution all along but no other NFL team figured it out there’s a quote from Albert Einstein I really like he says the defin definition of genius is taking the complex and making it look simple right so that’s what the Chiefs have done here they’ve taken a problem that the greatest Minds in football like Bill belich have said look this is going to change everything this is really really complex and the Chiefs have made it look incredibly simple they just said oh we’ll just get rid of the kicker and put into safety problem solved right we we’ll have an extra defender or our kicker won’t have to make a lot of tackles because obviously he won’t be on there we’ll have a safety a guy who’s used to making tackles out there and kicker won’t have to learn an entirely new skill set learning how to kick in this situation and let’s contrast this with dumb teams right Chiefs are smart team one of the dumbest teams in football over the past two decades is the Cleveland Browns don’t want to be mean to Cleveland on purpose it’s just the reality so what the Browns have decided this is according to AR myov on on Twitter said that the brown special teams coordinator bubber vent Tron says they have talked to some of the secondary coaches about working with the kickers on tackling drills seriously this is what the rest of the NFL is doing they’d rather teach kickers to tackle like safeties instead of taking safeties and learn them how to make these kicks or use them to make these kicks I I am amazed at how we obviously it’s after the fact but how stupid the Browns look and how smart the Chiefs look and the reality is I don’t want to be critical of the Browns too much because I think the 30 other NFL teams outside of Kansas City and Cleveland have the same approach as Cleveland it seems like the Chiefs are well ahead of the curve once again and it’s again it sounds so incredibly simple but only the Chiefs have been able to take complex problems like this and solve them like this they’re the smartest team in football and they’ proven it here yet again and I I I think the the key here is we’re talking about a kickoff we’re not talking about field goal there’s no I mean there’s some element of accuracy involved but it’s just if you have a strong leg and you can kick it relatively straight not out of bounds you’re going to be fine for kicking off and I mean until we at least figure things out with how this kickoff is going to work I mean this is the obvious choice here you don’t have to have a Harrison bucker a Justin Tucker you know any kind of elite you don’t need to Adam veter out there you know making perfect field goal like kicks you just need a guy who can get the ball down to the end zone and I think a guy like Justin Reed or Luis Reed simt are the perfect option here like you said I think the Chiefs once again like you said they’re really smart here with how they’re doing it you don’t have to overthinking what’s easier take guys who potentially have kicked before in high school or have a relatively strong leg and shown to be able to do so and get them to kick the kickoff or take a kicker who I would say most likely hasn’t had formal training in how to tackle and be you know like a defensive minded player and teach them from the ground up because you know we all know usually kickers come from like a soccer team or something like that throughout high school and work their way up that way they’re not usually out there on the field learning how to tackle they’re not learning defensive schemes how to cover going downfield on a kickoff like that just seems ridiculous to try to do something that that so I agree with you here the Chiefs once again showing they are much smarter than everybody else M you remember the movie Armageddon from way back in the 90s with Ben afflac Bruce Willis and they they had the oil rig guys saving the world because they had to learn to be astronauts and everyone you know when you stopped and thought about it for a second was like wouldn’t it be easier to teach astronauts how to drill for oil than to teach people to drill for oil how to be astronauts the rest of the NFL are doing the stupid thing they’ve got literally they’ve got a problem they’re trying to save the world from an AS and they’re teaching oil rig guys to be astronauts the Chiefs are like we’ll just we’ll just teach the astronaut to dig for oil seems to be a lot easier and that’s exactly what they’re doing here and it’s so simple because when you look at it you look at the image here right that the the target area for Success the NFL field is what 53 and a third yard wide 20 yards deep in that light red area I mean that’s a huge Target area like you mentioned you don’t need to be accurate to anything as long as you keep it in bounds and in that 20 yard window you’ll be fine so why would you rather have a kicker learn how to tackle just cuz he can put it really accurately then just take any Defender that can sit there and go hey can you get it in this light pink area consistently and I guarantee you one guy on your team definitely can certainly with some practice and he certainly knows how to tackle I mean the answer is so darn simple but the other 31 teams can’t figure it out and it’s just what the Chiefs do they’ proven it year after year we talk about it all the time all the different smart moves they made the the overtime practicing that they thought about the strategy for the Super Bowl ahead of everybody else this is what they’ve proven yet again it it’s it it almost sound like a broken record but maybe eventually the rest of the NFL will catch up but it’s not today the Chiefs proving themselves once again smarter than their competition

The Kansas City Chiefs are clearly and undeniable setting themselves apart from their competition. The Chiefs have clearly outsmarted everyone with their approach to the new rules. This is clearly what puts the Chiefs ahead of almost everyone. Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs should be excited by this news.
