Innings to the St Louis Cardinals they did win the series though which is what really did matter the most but now they turn the page and they welcome reys Hoskins back into town as they face off against the Milwaukee Brewers the NL Central leaders and well it should be a very fun series between both of these teams obviously a lot to unpack with the Milwaukee Brewers and how great they’ve been this season the biggest storyline tonight we all know is that ree Hoskins is back in action at the bank he’s batting sixth in the lineup today for the Milwaukee Brewers this team has been doing a pretty good job overall this season and they’re pitching even though they’ve they’ve dealt with a lot of injuries they really have they’ve dealt with so many injuries this year they have a pretty formidable offense you know William conas has been doing a very good job offensively behind the plate eight homers 44 RBI for him and a 316 batting average yeah Bryce terang who’s been batting in the leadoff spot he’s their stolen base leader with 20 Steals on the season he also has three homers in 21 RBI and a 299 average and then yellich batting in the three spot he’s been really hot lately and so is Willie adamus their first four hitters have been doing really really terrific and the Brewers have won their last five games in a row and they’ve just been playing pretty good baseball against teams that have uh have been pretty solid now they did uh win three of four against the Chicago Cubs and then they just swept the Chicago White Socks they ended up winning their last game by a score of 6 to3 and they’re seven games now above the St Louis Cardinals the question is can Zack weer uh go up against Jared Koenig and have a very good dominant outing against him it was weird because uh the the Brewers did not initially have Koenig pitching and then it was around like 350 I want to say that I got the report that uh coig was going to be the starter for them uh in regards to tonight’s game so let’s see how the Phillies can Faire up against him offensively speaking uh the other thing I wanted to make sure that I talked about obviously is that Brandon Marsh and Cody Clemens are on the injured list and those are big losses for the Phillies they really are uh Cody was doing really well coming off the bench playing good solid baseball over at second base he was one of those guys along with ad Mundo Sosa that really stepped up when Trey Turner went down and now the Phillies are not going to have a bat like his and they’re going to have to rely on Wes Wilson who they just called up and obviously Brandon Marsh another key figure in that Outfield and uh they had to call up David dahah another left-handed hitter who’s had a really good season in the miners for the Phillies but he’s he’s uh both of them are on the roster tonight and David dah is actually starting he is seventh in the lineup tonight for the Phillies so we’ll be interested to see how uh both of those guys do Wes Wilson and David dah but big losses for the Phillies with Brandon Marsh and Cody Clemens but this team is depth uh we’ve talked about it all season long this team is a type of Team where if you try to stomp on them they’re not just going to sit down and die they have a lot of great depth on this team but can they wheel them through these next five or more so games five to seven and maybe even longer uh without both of those guys so uh yes back spasms for Cody Clemens yes I know I know but yeah all right um we’ll get into the starting laps we’ll do that right now obviously for the Milwaukee Brewers we’ll do them first because the Phillies are hosting the Milwaukee Brewers who are 36 and 23 Phillies of course are 41 and 19 on the season and their lineup looks like this the Brewers it will be Bryce terang batting in the leadoff spot William contris hitting second and then Christian Yelich batting third willia adamus the red hot adamus over at shortstop batting in the cleanup spot and then hitting fifth it’ll be South freck uh the right fielder and then Reese Hoskins the designated hitter batting in the sixth spot in the first pitch is fouled off over towards the left field side Jake Bowers batting seventh Joey Ortiz batting eighth and Blake Perkins hitting ninth and they’re facing Zack Wheeler so we were on the bump for the Phils he’s six and3 with a 2.32 earned run average and 85 strikeouts on the season along with a N5 whip no balls one strike and the next pitch is a for steamer that misses upstairs Zach is 34 years old and the whip is eighth best in all the baseball along with the ER to and the next pitch is taken low for a ball we’ll obviously talk about the Phillies lineup in just a little bit two balls one strike though to Bryce terang and the next pitch is taken looked like it was a little bit inside but it’s called a strike even the graphics operator got a little bit confused there last time we were pitched he went six Innings allowed just two hits against the Giants he did not get the win the Phillies would end up losing one nothing in Extra Innings he did have nine strikeouts though and the two two on the way and that spoiled foul five pitches in this at bat so far also 23 walks in 73 and two-thirds of an inning pitched and his record sits at six and three this is his 13th start of the Season 22 on the way and that’s sliced out over towards left field and David dah in action is there to make the catch and there’s the first out recorded in the top of the first inning so terang flies out to D and D gets some Applause from the fans pretty sunny out at Citizens Bank Park the weather to be exact it’s 87° there’s some clouds in the sky but not too many and the pitch to conteras is missed inside for a ball how about William contras in the season he’s having he’s sixth in all the major league baseball in batting average with a 316 average and has 44 four runs driven in and the 26-year-old takes it inside for ball two also a 388 on base percentage and a 489 slugging percentage as well his Ops is 14th best in the majors the 2- bouncing ball hit over to Second stot Fields it throws it on the run over to networking events at Rowan I’ve met some incredible people but the one person Scott fransky I’ll never forget he said you need reps you need reps if anything you need reps doesn’t matter how many games you called before if you were doing an 80 if the Blue Rocks played 81 times and you only were in a six-man rotation for broadcasting games right how many games did you do a year as a play-by-play 10 that’s not enough and I appreciated and I loved the internship but I had to get more and more reps so I figured you know what let’s call games on here let’s try to grow a brand and let’s just do more play byplay and Inspire other play-by-play announcers to try to get a part of the digital media world and that’s my long story now back to our regularly scheduled program all right an end a one two3 inning by Jeff Hoffman and as erra continues to go down as he Ms down the lineup and we head to the bottom of the eighth Phillies lead a three to one okay what sounds do you like the sounds I think that baseball is the type of sport where you can chat you know and you take your kids to the ballpark on a nice beautiful Sunday afternoon and you just hear them you know screaming and having a good time I like that I think that the sound of kids laughing and cheering is what makes the ballpark really cool too especially when you see them with their family members Rick what’s up dark out I mean the sun has gone down there still is like a little peak of brightness out towards the left field corner but but besides that it’s gotten pretty dark out so schwarber is coming up to bat he did not get a chance to bat in the bottom of the seventh inning because Johan roas was picked off at first and made the last out so top of the order for the Phils shorer riut and Harper and the time somebody came in relief to pitch with two outs and didn’t even throw a pitch and got out of the inning cuz that’s what just happened to Milner the one to one that’s low and away for ball two towards adamus it was hit pretty hard off the bat by JT just put it in the wrong spot and there’s two outs in the bottom of the eighth Alvarado is getting loosened up in the Philly Bullpen and he will come in to pitch the top of the ninth another Lefty and that’s Bryce Harper he’s up to bat and he takes a sweeper at the knees for strike one Harper’s 0 for two he did walk though no balls two strikes or no balls one strike excuse me and the next pitch is wide so is bottom of the order we talked about how bad their top of the order has been today hit Len what is now 13 that bats well the one one is swung on and lined into right field and finally somebody from the top of the order gets a base hit and that’s Bryce Harper as he singles out to right it took a bounce in front of freck and he gets on with a two out single I was going to mention that the bottom of the order the bottom three hitters are five for nine which is pretty good Le Harper drilled that thing out to right and now Alec BM it’s his turn to bat and he takes it the knees for strike one against Milner it’s only faced him once and he struck out in that at bat the 01 pitch and that’s popped up hit out over towards shallow right field freck comes running in towards home plate he’s there to squeeze it for out number three and that’s the end of the inning we go to the top of the ninth Phillies looking to get the final three outs of the ball game and beat the Brewers to try to get their 42nd win on the season isn’t that’s tough B was actually on a three- game hitting streak and that’s going to come to an end wasn’t Bowman for three he had a home run in the fourth and also singled and scored in the second as well who’s your player of the game comment down below Zack Wheeler was absolutely strong today he went seven Innings just allowed one earned run and had six strikeouts three walks allowed and just pulled off another terrific outing for Philadelphia his ra today coming into this game was at 2.32 he had 85 strikeouts coming into today as well and now has reached the 90 Mark great for Zack weer good job by the Phillies Bullpen too to come on in shut the door Hoffman was great once again what else can you say about about Jeff Hoffman he’s just been lights out this Phillies Bullpen I remember that we had conversations during the very beginning of the season and rightfully so we had concerns about this Bullpen and now I think it’s safe to say that the Phillies have four guys in that Bullpen that are reliable eighth ninth inning pitchers okay say what you want about Alvarado’s erra at the beginning of the Season it has been it was bad but as a team they have three guys who have under a two erra that’s pretty awesome Hoffman kiring and STM great Spen continues to be really good the offense did enough wish that they would have done more but sometimes that’s just going to happen and a win is a win at the end of the day they got the W against a very good Brewers team who’s 36 and 24 I don’t want to hear that they can’t beat teams that over 500 after a win like this because this was a nice win and for those people they this one deserves praise it does their pitching was really good so 91 strikeouts now for Zack weer I don’t know what else to say bottom of the order came through again and dah went two for three Sosa went one for three almost a home run out to center field roas went two for three had a nice RBI single along with edmundo Sosa in that bottom of the second I love the bottom of the order this team has a next man up mentality it doesn’t matter who goes down who goes down whoever goes down they still have another guy that can step up this team is deep and they’re scary good when everybody’s on all right Bryce Wilson is now three and2 on the season he went five and 2/3 today allowed three earned runs six hits one walk and just had one strike out David dah’s being interviewed on NBC Sports Philadelphia the Brewers are now 36 and 24 the Phillies get their 42nd win on the season and they’re now 42 and 19 in 61 games and oh by the way they’re now 25 and9 at home impressive stuff one word to describe the game man one word to describe it and then we’re off been
