the MLB World Tour continues for the third time it visits the wonderful city of London and we’ve got a great match up for you between a couple of National League East Rivals that have come across the Ponda London Stadium the team of the best record in baseball is the Philadelphia Phillies they’ll take on the New York Mets for a pair of games here from West Ham United’s home London Stadium in the Stratford District of this Wonder City Shawn manai is a well-traveled man in fact he’s going to become the third pitcher in Major League history to pitch in four different countries the US Canada pitched last year in the Mexico series and now will get the start for the New York Mets here in London against a very good Philadelphia Phillies roster and it starts with a very dangerous power hitter in Kyle schwarber who’s been in a little bit of a power slum and bounces it on the ground to Second for eaus and there is one down down here on top of the first inning JT realmuto who has been banged up as of late called strike three as he is Frozen by manah there are quickly chew down here in the first manah freezes him right there with a comeback two seamer inside right there Perfect Pitch here’s the Superstar the player of the month in the National League in May and Bryce Harper very aggressive payoff pitch and Harper Strokes it the other way down the line that’s a fair ball and he’s gun in for extra bases and easy two out double for Bryce Harper a man in scoring position with two down for Philadelphia in the first here’s Alec B bounces right side Alonzo vacuums it up and manah Works around the two out Harper double so the Mets will come to bat in the bottom of the first Francisco Lindor will lead it off for the Mets against Ranger Suarez he has been outstanding this year best ER and the most wins in Major League Baseball Lindor launches one to left aggressive swing and it’s going to one hop the wall he’s gunning for two marafield got to it quickly and Lindor has a lead off Mets double his 15th of the year to lead the club and since going to the leadoff spot boy Francisco Lindor AJ feels very comfortable so suddenly Ranger Suarez as a man in scoring position that’s a nasty looking Sinker right at the bottom of the Zone hard to connect with and that’s his best pitch the most strikeouts this year for Suarez have come on the Sinker there are two now here’s JD Martinez o way inside and he got a piece of Martinez on nothing and two so Suarez sees one get away from him now two on for Marte 80th career game for Starling Marte against the Philadelphia Phillies a base hit for Marte into the corner Lindor will score hustling as Martinez he’ll get the stop sign at third it’s an RBI double with two outs for Marte and the Met strike first in London that one was right down the middle Marte didn’t miss it for their second double already and usually Suarez isn’t given up hits he’s given up two extra base hits in this first inning inducing a visit from Caleb Cam and here’s Mark Vientos who came back in miday from Triple A and has been one of the Met’s best hitters two- two pitch swung on and missed got a foul tip into the glove and Suarez limits it to just one run the faces of baseball here in London Francisco Lindor cranks one out to left field and it’s caught by marfield one pitch one out so that cuts our time with Bryce down a little bit but Bryce you want to give us some love out to anybody back in America yeah crew man what’s up dude I know you’re watching Brooklyn CIS what’s up girl I love you guys so much I miss you can’t wait to get home and and be with you guys just give us a quick sense you know a couple of days here another game tomorrow a lot of travel for you guys as of late what’s the experience been like so far yeah it’s been fun I think uh We’ve hit 18 time zones in like 17 days or something like that something crazy so um definitely uh a little worn down but I think we’re having a blast out here what a what a great venue this is at um great crowd I mean 60,000 or something like that I mean it’s uh it’s pretty incredible man R I know we’re distracting you a little bit with the run on first but have you tried yet to listen to what the first base coach Whispers in the guy’s ear I swear every time they say one out or two outs they still happens all the time man called strike three Ranger Suarez Strikes Out Martinez and Bryce really appreciate the time brother thank you so much for taking with us appreciate it Harper who is the only man to reach against manah he had the two out double in the first we appreciate Bryce taking the time out to chat with us two two pitch that one started out in the middle of the plate and Harper rips it deep to right field and it is gone Bryce Harper the first home run across the pond for Philadelphia and we’re tied at one Harper just went into a uh kneehigh slide that sliding down on both knees the way a soccer player would when scoring a goal and moving up to his nickname the showman Bryce Harper in right in front of his own Dugout goes down sliding as though he’s just scored manah wants him basically to sit down but he’s got to get the final out if he wants to continue on in this game here’s ad Mundo Sosa with two on and two outs Sosa lifts it to right charging his Marte towards the line and that’s going to drop with that big bounce and that allows St to race into third base off of first for a moment came Soso but he’ll deal with a two out single and the Phillies at Runners at the corners B comes in to score and they’ve got the lead marafield lifts one deep to left nmo back turning around and wh marafield with a strike a three-run shot and the Phillies with a big frame lead it 5 to one you know Whit Maryfield is a guy I I felt this all year if he plays every day he gets better and better he is still such a good hitter out there I know he’s got some tough numbers to look at withit marfield can still play he’s a great player and now here’s Christian Pache hard hit towards the Gap left center field that’s going to get down and it’ll one hop to the fence and Christian Pache speeds into second base with a two out double man was one strike away from getting out of the inning against Bryson stot he was ahead nothing and two stot worked the walk and since then three runs and another extra base hit quickly nothing and two on schwarber again trying to get out of the inning rock it to Center Bader Dives and he trapped it that will allow a run to score Pache comes around it’s a six-run Philly fourth schwarber with a shimmy and an RBI and it looks like that’s going to be it for Shawn manah as the Phillies bat through here in this fourth inning and there’s two away Jose glacius next to the plate a rocket to left field the glaus continues to smoke for New York on his way to Third entos he’ll get the stop sign there as marfield got to it and dug it out but now two men in scoring position in the fourth for New York and this is a big ADV bat coming up for the nine hitter Luis Torres the Mets are going to jump back into this game this is the spot to answer that big inning last time they need to put a couple up right here he goes down swinging here Suarez keeps the Mets at Bay leaving two stranded in scoring position really appreciate Harrison Bader sticking the Mone M on and uh putting in the headset and giving some of his time here in London to the guys in the booth yeah absolutely good to talk to yall know what’s up baby how you doing just so everybody knows this is Harrison Bader and that’s how he introduces himself unless it’s to a young lady wow the the gloves are off early then then he comes out with a he looks right in their eyes and he goes hi I’m Harrison maybe that’s just how I introduce myself to you I know Harper boy a beautiful knockdown by Lindor but he could not find it immediately an impressive play just to knock it down but it will be a hard hit ball on the infield to allow Harper to reach for a third time Hower one Harper goes pitch taken low throw down from teren beautiful throw and Harper slides right into the tag a glacius came over from second just held the glove right in front of the bag and once again Luis Teran throws out a base runner the Lindor Alonzo and nmo big opportunity here Suarez into the third time through the order Lindor goes the other way and a two strike single to start off this fifth inning for New York lead off man on for the third time for New York here’s Alonzo who has struck out and walked Alonzo ropes one down the left field line and that’s going to drop Big Bounce and it’s over the fence for a ground rule double for Alonzo that’s his 16th double he passes Lindor for the team lead and with nobody out the Mets start to get a rally together here in the bottom of the fifth against Suarez and with second and third there’s one out for JD Martinez on the ground to third gloved by B and he will throw to first runner takes off from third and Lindor he’s safe at home nice heads up base running by Francisco Lindor AJ to your point it just felt like the Mets have to get something Lindor probably felt the same and took off after the throw from bow to get the Mets another run backto back Hits From the Bottom of the Mets order there are two outs but an opportunity here for Lindor with two down to try to get some of this back for New York so Suarez is done at 89 pitches in line for the win he gets a nice Ovation from the Philly faithful Orion Kirk ring is into the game with two Runners on base and two down in the sixth facing Francisco Lindor and he got Lindor to fish at it for a strike three couple of two out knocks but Suarez can breathe a sigh Rel Kirk keeps the metch scoreless in the sixth here Nick castano seeing the Phillies lead the match 6-2 top of the eighth bases are clear whoa Castellanos launches it and it is gone absolutely crushed that was a blast too looked like it was going to go fou that thing just stayed true this was an absolute no doubter now the Met fans trying to will their Mets back into this the bases are loaded against Ruiz on the ground broken bat to the back picked up by St Taps the back ball game with a double play to finish off the opener in London the Phillies International debut at London Stadium ends with a 7 to2 win they’ve won four in a row and seven of their last eight and the best team in baseball continues to hold the top spot [Applause]
