Jannik “hands of stone” Hansen leading the Canucks is not something I was expecting.
It’s discouraging when three of our top 10 are Grant, Lundestrom, and Carrick…
Kassian is elite.
I understood what this meant after I clicked on it, but that title was really confusing.
I wonder if any of the analytics sites will ever try to work out some sort of finishing talent adjusted expected goals type stat? I guess part of the difficulty would be the fact that shooting % or a players ability to finish can be somewhat volatile from year to year.
I think it would be an interesting stat to see alongside the usual xG stats. Like if a team has a low xG% in a game but all their shots were taken by proven, elite finishers and they opponents had most of their shots taken by poor finishers, adjusting for the finishing talent would really change how we looked at that game.
Yamamoto had such a good run with the Oilers that year.
