uh Dubois who will turn 26 on on June 24th had the worst season of his career with just 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points in 81 games along with just one goal in five games in the playoffs he currently has seven years left on an eight-year contract with an 8.5 million doll cap hit that is crazy that is a lot of money to a guy that has lived up to the kind of player that many people perceive his contract and salary Dubois cap hit is the third highest on the Caps behind Alex oetkin at 9.5 million and Nick Backstrom at 9.2 that’s the big thing for me when you’re making that kind of money I want to feel excited with a new addition I don’t necessarily have that excitement uh that I would have had if it had been another big name player
