If The Winnipeg Jets Trade Rutger McGroarty Around The 2024 NHL Draft, What’s The Return?
all right now we’re getting into the Rucker mcity portion of the of the podcast part two as this first question comes from Ms what pick would make you consider swapping for Rucker mcord I.E fifth overall onwards later curious where he would slot in versus this draft class for you um so that is a great question and the the fact of the matter is I said at the top I think that if the Jets do trade majority it is unlikely they would get anything in that top 15 to get to to move into him I just don’t think yes he’s closer to NHL ready yes he’s a bit more of a known commodity but he is still a player that’s yet you know below average skating um you know was injured this season and while he had an a substantial uptick in production you know there’s certainly going to still be questions about his overall translatability um I love the player I think he’s going to be an nhlr I think he could potentially wear a letter at some point in the NHL um I think that matters but the question is is Will other team team believe that and that’s what the star that’s what the Jets are going to have to try to find out I think it’s more likely that we we see him if he’s going to be moved it’s going to be anywhere from 15 to 25 in terms of those prospects like you know if you’re if you’re the Boston Bruins you just got the 25th overall pick Rucker mcgr might fit what you’re building more than what that 25th overall pick will do for you will that be enough for the Jets to move the pick I don’t know probably not um but at the same time you know I think if I’m the Jets I got to hold out and get as much value as I possibly can um maybe it’s a Prospect for Prospect swap U maybe it’s uh maybe it is a draft pick maybe it’s a collection of draft picks um but either way I don’t think if I’m a Jets fan I don’t anticipate them getting fair value um versus you know a 14th overall pick you know the top 14 of this draft is is is highly regarded and I don’t think that Rucker would have necessarily fit into it um if he were in this draft class so uh that’s that’s what you have to consider there all right uh also a little bit more for mordi avco cup which of the top 20 prospects in this year’s draft do you think would be a fair trade for teams in exchange for Rucker mcgi so as I look at that I think about the guys that will be available in that 15 to 20 range and the different players that you know you could potentially see um in that range and you know I think you look at those guys like uh Michael ha Sasha W um uh jet luchenko players like that you know I think that there there is a chance that you can make those picks and and that would be you know a fair trade um for that player um I think Beyond those guys you know you’re you’re hoping that that you get some some good value out of it but I think in that 15 to 20 range there’s going to be some guys that that really do fit um in that mix I think eigor chernishov um you know a number of players like that I really again I like Rucker mcgi a lot but I just think it’s very tough tough for a team to get good value in the situation that they’re in

Everyone thought Chevy was put in a tough situation with PLD, and he made BBQ chicken out of chicken shit. The self-enitled McGroarty will be moved on Chevy's time at the right time. No sooner or later. I'd teach him a lesson and make him sit until the 2026 trade deadline, then use him as a nice little throw-in on a deal. He'd lose 2 yrs of NHL salary and of his NHL career. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Rutger will be traded for top 15 pick. you are incorrect.
I say trade him ASAP. His entitled attitude is toxic for all the other players who have paid their dues and the team does not need that.
rutgers stock has gone way up since he was drafted. way up from the jets point of view, and probably in eyes of a few other teams as well. thats why people are talking about it all over the place. 15 or lower? maybe if there is a nhl ready player coming back to jets as well as a pick. this kid is playing in the nhl soon and chevy is not taking anything less than a roster player or a top 10. if he does not get what he wants he will sit on the asset until he does. nobody is getting this kid for a 15 or lower pick. no way.
