every GM knows that hockey is driven by excited and talented young players they are the lifeblood of a team this year’s nominees aren’t just game changers they are game changers they will be the backbone of their teams for a lot of years to come here are the nominees for the Calder Trophy Calder Memorial trophy Conor Bard Chicago Black Ops expectations on this kid with the weight of the world on his shoulders has lived up to all of it unbelievable score Brock Faber Minnesota Wilds Brock Faber what he’s done as a rookie with the situation he’s been put in in the Minnesota Wild they give him more minutes and more responsibility and all he does is get better favor of the rebound lukee Hughes New Jersey Devils Luke Hughes had a great year and he will continue to be a superstar this kid has deadly [Applause] talent and the CER Trophy goes to Connor Bard the 18-year-old Conor vard was the number one pick in the the 2023 NHL draft Bard LED his team in scoring the only rookie to do so this season he is the 10th Blackhawks player to win the caler [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] uh thank you guys very much this is a a huge honor uh first of all Brock Luke unbelievable year it’s a lot of fun to watch um I’d like to thank the Chicago organization um you know management ownership everyone behind the scenes that you know makes it so easy for us to just go play hockey uh my teammates there’s no individual award W uh on your own you know had a lot of help and um you know was a great great place to play and uh last lastly the fans uh best fans in the world and uh can’t wait to get back there and and be in front of you guys again and um of course my family my mom dad sister uh wouldn’t be standing up here without you guys so I love you guys and uh thank you very much [Music]

  6. This was the worst NHL AWARD SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. You can thank Gary Whiny Clown Bettman. Who the F put this clown comedian 🤡 as comedy host. The guys playing drums in light head gear I thought this was GHOST BC ROCK BAND new show. Heck Papa could have introduced the awards. Ghost could have played. Boring not funny. Not entertaining. The players faces say it all Dead! In shock.! He wasn’t funny at all. We didn’t need him to go politics or wear wigs . It was an insult to the sport, players and viewers. NHL HAS GONE WOKE. First he did not look Nakita Kucherov more like Ashma Binladen . The black guy coming out in goalie gear for Venzina trophy looked like Jason from Friday The 13th and spoke ghetto. Please get rid of Gary Woke Bettman. The only players that spoke well were Hellyabugh of the Jets, Quinn Hughes and Nathan McKinnon. What an embarrassment. Who hired him. Bedard rambled on couldn’t understand him sounded dead. Please leave ESPN.

  8. Bedard looked totally lost and confused. He sounded Dead. Rambling on. Glad he won but the show was a complete disaster. Shame on Gary Bettman. He sold his soul.. to woke ESPN. Was this amateur night for standup comedians. That guy was an embarrassment a complete embarrassment. He wasn’t funny at all. It’s like taking an average guy or fan and putting him in front of the NhL award stage and TV viewers to make a fool out of himself. He did that fine. His wigs were ridiculous. Never mix politics with sports and it should have been entertaining not dead. The faces of the players and their girlfriends, family members and wives were priceless. Said it all. They looked like they were abducted by aliens. Total shock! Dead! Who needed that guy from Stranger Things show-Dustin. He’s like a little boy man. Ugggggh. This is sports man.

  27. There are a lot of reasons for Gary Bettman to be banished to Siberia but those cyborg drummers are at the top of the list.
