This tweet was mentioned by Giants Talk by Pavs and I thought it was worth a post given all the discussion around Jackson.
While he has been quite bad this season, I’m not sure if I expected this number to be higher. However, 5 losses which are directly attributable to his runs given up in appearances is pretty substantial. Given his record is 4-2 (somehow) this is important to know. The Giants like coming back and Jackson makes that harder most of the time.
Luke should be at the All Star Game. Someone needs to pitch to the Home Run Derby participants. Who better?
Barring a miraculous second-half turnaround, he’s gotta be the team’s worst offseason acquisition since Casey McGehee, right?
That’s not surprising, he’s in the bottom 5% of most relief pitcher stats. If he had a decent year we’d only be 1 GB the Padres and above .500, considering he only would’ve lost us one or two games directly so far like a normal relief pitcher.
What makes me so angry is he never changes anything – he just does that stupid overthrow motion and throws slider after slider.
