I’ll always remember Geoff Sanderson on the Flyers because of that one time he knocked Lundqvist out of a game with his slapper.
I guess Vinny Lecavalier played for us too long to make this list, but having him on the team never felt quite right.
Keith Yandles ironman night was the most electric I’ve ever seen the WFC. Absolutely amazing to witness that Flyers legend cross that premier milestone. The embodiment of a true cult hero.

Now, whenever someone goes on LTIR, we say they’re lampooned on “Ellis Island.”
I do NOT remember Kevin Stevens as a Flyer and I hate it.
I guess that’s why the Penguins responded by signing over the hill John Leclair, which I image we’ll be seeing soon.
Gave up a ton for Adam Oates and we lost in the first round IIRC. I feel like we had a revolving door from 2000 to 2004 with the supporting cast.

I look forward to seeing these posts everyday! Question though… why do so many guys play on the unusual team for only a handful of games? Im sure there’s a multitude of reasons but any insight is appreciated.
I always used to grab Hal Gill in the video games back in the day. No matter which team I picked in GM Mode, he was always a budget free agency pickup. He was great for the third pair or as a 7th D.
Keith Yandle’s year with Philly at the end was one of the worst players I’ve ever seen play. No way he gets that record if Torts is the coach that year.
Would have rather seen Cogliano get it, he would have been healthy and played good enough the supposed year he would have got it.

Fun fact, Robert Esche’s nickname was ‘Chico’ because Glenn ‘Chico’ Resche. On Robert’s sticks, it would say ‘R. Esche’, so the Chico nickname stuck.

My favorite hockey jersey that I own is an og Adam Oates black flyers jersey. Sometimes I just like imagining the guy (or gal) who was so jazzed up in Oates in 2002 that (or she) went out and bought the jersey right after the deadline. Only for the season to die a fiery death and Oates to run out of Philly as fast as he could.
