Zack Rosenblatt: ” Something to note about Haason Reddick’s holdout from the #Jets, per the CBA:
For each preseason game he skips, he’d be fined an entire week’s worth of regular season pay, which is 1/18 of his salary.
On a $14.25M salary, that equates to $791,666. Which means he’d be fined $2.37M if he doesn’t report before any of the three preseason games.
That’s in addition to the $50,000 per day he’s already being fined, the $100,000 he was fined for skipping minicamp, the $250,000 workout bonus he forfeited and the $300,000 in discretionary fines the Jets can use (which Saleh indicated they’d likely be doing.)
So far, I believe he’s already incurred $750,000 in daily training camp fines.”

  1. I truly do not care about the amount of money he is losing, so please stop trying to make us cry for this guy. He makes more than most of us combined and has made a lot throughout his career so I don't have any sympathy. At this point present Reddick with two options: He can either report to the team or he will be cut. Sure cutting him would result in egg on the organization's face, but better that than having this whole drama extend and go on into the season. The Jets need to concentrate on getting things right this year not on side dramas.It's no secret Saleh and company are on the hot seat and a lot of players are going to start getting salary capped past this year. So we need to focus because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Drama kings can take their garbage elsewhere. This whole situation is probably a mix of Douglas's infamous stinginess combined with unrealistic demands from Reddick for a multi year contract when the Jets most likely only wanted to sign him for a year. Two equally stubborn people cannot get along. Something will have to give and it doesn't look like the Jets organization is going to blink. Report or get cut, end of story.

  3. Reddick is approaching a situation where the best he can hope to do a contract where he earns back the money he's cost himself.

  4. Jets hold all the leverage. Who the hell is his agent? WMD is showing out in camp along with the other young edge/DL prospects. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. 🎉

  5. Best way I’ve seen it put is, “Reddick is a luxury, not a necessity.” Defense gonna eat regardless if he’s in the rotation or not. If anything, him no-showing has shown us some potential gems we picked up in UDFA.

  6. If we are to believe the initial reports, which stated that he agreed to show up and EARN his extension, then put him on the NFI/Did Not Report list and prep Will McDonald for a larger role. If the initial reports were total fabrication, well, thats a different story. Either way, this is now, officially, a DISTRACTION. Put him on ice, make sure he knows he's on ice, then see how he responds. Hes getting blasted with fines that total nearly $1 million already. For a dude concerned about money, he sure has a strange way of showing it as he gives up $50k/day. Show up, strap up, put forth your best effort and reap the rewards of your hard work. Sitting on the couch endears you to no one in the organization and provides no impetus for the Team to throw millions of new dollars at you. My boss wouldnt pay me MORE for NOT DOING MY JOB!

  7. Screw this guy already. We’re on the hook to reward this guy for past performances before he took a snap for the Jets. What a disaster of a trade, there’s still options out there and we should act on them. Similar to the back up qb last year, last summer there was still a lot of options available at back up qb

  8. He’s punishing the Jets for the contract HE signed with Philadelphia. Hit the road jack, and dontcha come back no more. Great opportunity for McDonald.

  15. At this point I would sign Justin Simmons and beef up the secondary even more. Jets already have the best CB trio in the NFL. Add Simmons too the safety room and that will pay off

  21. If he is interested in making money and who isn't , then ha can't afford to sit out, he will never recover that money and most likely will make less next year if he doesn't play this year. no brainer seems like he might not be to
    smart.

  23. Good. I hope he goes broke and ruins his career. Selfish shit at this point. Especially after telling the Jets he was ok with the contract so that they would trade for him. He’s such a loser
