I don’t like how long/tall the hyperlite tongues are and I feel like I can get better forward lean with other skates with softer/shorter tongue like the supreme line. I do not care about how it looks, I just want to know if I cut them straight across the top will the foam and stuff inside slowly come out or is the foam rigid enough to stay in place? Below is where I want to cut.

It’s certainly not near the weirdest stuff I’ve seen people do
I cut my bauer nexus 2n skates like that. Covered it with [‘permanent’ duct tape](https://gorillatough.com/product/gorilla-weather-tape/) and has held up well. No foam popped out.
A lot of russians I used to play with when I was younger did this. Never to this extent, but they also had to pay for skates haha
It helps with ankle pain especially with shitty skates. Never met anybody with top of the line skates who did it nor have I heard it being better for flexion. You probably just arent tying your skates right.
Had a coach that did this when I was a kid
I had the tops of the tongues on my Trues cut by a local cobbler.
But I’m a goalie, so no one saw them either way
He also [cuts](https://vafloc02.s3.amazonaws.com/isyn/images/f137/img-4040137-f.jpg) the top cuff out of his gloves. Also has some weird ribcage padding that always sticks out
