Wow, Chibrikov all the way at 14! Jets got him at 50
God I’m so excited for Edvinsson
Wyatt Johnston “Best case: Mason Appleton”
Press x to doubt
When Coffrey coached him: “It didn’t matter what point of the game it was – if I needed to win a faceoff, to kill a penalty, to score a goal, Wyatt was always the first guy I tapped to go out there,” Coffey recalled of a teenager with “off the charts” hockey sense.
Samu Tuomaala: Best case= Jesse Puljujarvi.
Damn… don’t put that evil on him.
Eklund has been a bright spot thankfully
I think this will end up being a great draft. Because of COVID’s effect on development, a lot of these guys still haven’t proven themselves at the NHL level yet, but eventually will. I’m hoping for a last year’s Byfield/Laf type of season for guys like Edvinsson, Clarke, Guenther, and Eklund as well as a bounce back from Beniers.
The biggest mistake the isles made was sending Aatu in the trade for Horvat, he was the only decent player we had in Bridgeport and honestly making an imp for himself on the island
And yet Michigan’s the only school in the Big Ten to never have won a Big Ten regular season championship.
Guenther has been sneaky good this year, I’ll gamble with him on my pool
Edvinsson: “He’s not Rasmus Dahlin food, but he’s probably better than Philip Broberg.”
Well thanks, that narrows it down. We should expect somewhere between 2 and 73 points in his age 22 season.
Edit: good* lmao
Really glad we snagged OEL in this one.
MASON MCTAVISH LESSGOOOOOOO
Beniers looks like left the life as a hitman for the mob in The 70’s.
Wyatt Johnston best case: Mason Appleton
Huh, kinda feels like there’s some information about Logan Mailloux that this scouting report missed…..
Matthew Knies being an NHL player already with potential to be a top-line power forward despite being a 2nd round pick is some tidy work by the Leafs staff as well.
Preview for 2022 Draft Preview:
* Shane Wright
* Brad Lambert
* Matt Savoie
* Šimon Nemec
* Logan Cooley
* Juraj Slafkovský
* David Jiříček
* Tristian Loneau
* Elias Salomonsson
* Ivan Miroshnichenko
So here they are this preview, Some didn’t live up hyped while other grow yet steady.
Edvinsson has been one of my favorite prospects in recent years. I’m looking forward to seeing him take the next step with Detroit. In fact, I need to start watching the Wings more since they keep drafting the guys I like.
Now if only Salomonsson and Lindstein can prove themselves on the big stage, I’ll be vindicated on my love of Swedish defencemen three years in a row.
The last page would mentioning Brayden Yager and Macklin Celebrini, Two of those prospects are Eyes and Ears within several seasons.
Clarke is going to be so good still. What a year he had in the AHL last year as a rookie.
I think this ranking would have shaken out differently had there been a CHL draft season for these prospects. A lot of players developments, especially for this age group, were affected by the shutdowns. I believe what you’ll see is a higher rate of later round picks turning into impact players from this draft.
Red Savage is a comic book villain who also happens to play hockey.
Canucks legend Aatu Raty
Beniers at 5 certainly was a take. Did any other outlet not have him #1 or 2? I felt like from the mid-point of the season it was a Power/Beniers debate for 1 and 2. It certainly was in any Sabres forums I read that year, since we all knew where we’d be finishing (thanks Ralph).
Other thought on this draft was how much I loved (still do) Guenther and thought he’d be the 3rd best player (or maybe the best if things went just right. Time will tell I guess, no one here’s a finished project yet.
edit -And I totally forgot about Whynot and Savage, along with Stankoven and Power, making this maybe the best “name” class ever.
Chase Stillman #65 babyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I really hope Lysell turns into something
Jack Peart: Best case — Rasmus Sandin
What does that even mean? Sandin was 21 and had played 37 games at this point. They were years away from knowing what *his* best case was, why are they comparing someone to him?
I get that they reference Sandin in his blurb, but projecting him onto a developing prospect is just such a useless comparison to make.
Sigh, Tyler Boucher. Sometimes it’s a coin toss, but in this case the coin fell, rolled wobbly to sewer grate and fell into oblivion, never to be seen again.
That 97 redraft is looking pretty weird to me.
Is Marleau really better than Hossa? Morrow better than Jokinen?
Hopefully we get to see Mackie in the show more this year.
Mackie Samoskevich I believe in you
Wow totally forgot the Stars got Stank Man and Johnston in the same draft. Amazing hits.
