Adam Wells- “ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that in talking to people on both sides of the situation that “no one knows” what Reddick is going to do as he continues to wait for a new contract. In the same article as Fowler’s report, ESPN’s Dan Graziano noted the Jets’ coaching staff “has basically had no communication with Reddick” since he was officially introduced by the team in April.”

  1. Reddick is clearly wrong. What is the risk of entering a building to talk to the people you want to pay you. Is he worried about spraining his wrist opening the lobby door

  2. Hassan needs to stop acting like a child and sack his agent whos about to cost him over 5 million. It's not his old team, where he has showcased his worth and value in the locker room as a leader. It's a new team, who in principle agreed a deal to sign, to then not show up thinking he has any kind of leverage is just ridiculous. It makes him show bad faith and a detriment to his character to all the Jet fans and opposing teams who may want to sign him in the future. Jets can basically ruin his career as if he does not play the contract carries over to next year. he will of lost 15 million and either be told you play for us, or can sit again and not get paid again and lose 30 million. then he would not of played for 2 years and be worth 8mil. He needs to show up, prove and gain respect from the Jet players and coach and fans by performing and then get his reward.

  3. He’s not playing Monday and I’m actually excited to see some of these udfa young guys get in the game. Don’t really care about leverage at this point bcs he wants the bag either way.

  4. If they have had zero communication with him, then this is clearly a personal ego thing at this point it is not at all about the team. It's looking like he's going to hold out the season. Something people have totally forgotten about is what if the Jets suffer any injuries on the defense? Does anyone really think they will go the whole season with none? This guy will be sitting there not playing, and they'll be scrambling trying to fill a role that should already be filled. They need to talk to him and work this out before there is a crisis and his leverage goes up.

  5. Joe Douglas has made some mistakes in the past, but there’s no way a seasoned general manager is going to trade for a dude unless he thinks he’s going to play. I think Reddick changed the narrative after the Jets traded Bryce Huff. This is on the player. I hope he sits out this season, and then the Jets make him sit out next season by making him play on the contract he signed. Who’s going to sign a 32-year-old disgruntled player who hasn’t played in two years? Good luck, dude. The Jets defense is going to be fine.

  6. Can someone please confirm something? I read in multiple places that if Reddick suits up for game 1, he can guarantee his salary for this season. If not, his salary becomes non-guaranteed. So you'd think he'd at least show up, otherwise he's probably sitting out for the season. And if he sits out, he does NOT become a free agent next year, and the Jets retain his rights, and we do this all over again next year. Just ridiculous!

  7. He might as well retire if he isn't going to take what the Jets are offering. He will be out of football for the next 2 years. Keep the fines pumping and forget about him. Does he really think he will be a hot commodity in 2026 after not playing for 2 years? Jets have all the leverage, and I am glad they aren't bowing down to this schmo.
