B/R’s Eric Pincus believes Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon could be early season Lakers trade targets

  1. With so many Lakers fans winning titles for the Celtics (Pierce, Tatum and Hollyday), I wouldn’t mind Smart.

  2. I’ve been saying it for months. Now I like DLo but the front office will not keep him here for many reasons and Brogdon, Smart, Anfernee Simons are probably our only options at guard

  3. I just can’t see the Grizzlies helping us when we’re competing with them in the west, but I’ve said for a little while Brogdon+Jonas would only cost (salary wise) DLo+Vando+Wood (it’s exactly 32.4M for both teams)

  4. Well Marcus Smart would theoretically fit that 3 and D guard that we desperately need. I just don’t see Memphis making a deal with us since we are competing with them in the West. As for Brogdon I personally don’t have much interest in with his recent injury history and his recent decline due to age.

  5. Would love to see how often Pincus actually hits on his speculation.

    Eye test says almost never.

He’s good on the collective bargaining agreement.

But Pincus is absolutely horrible on trade rumors and even worse with on court analysis.

D-Lo inevitably *will* get traded, but take Pincus’ conjecture with as much trust as you would as if 1st grader said it.

  6. As long as Ja is healthy the Grizzlies will compete and be one of the best teams in the west. People really underrate him as a player.

  7. I’d like Smart, bit wary about Brogdon; from the limited play I saw of him he was super up and down. But I guess Smart was injured all last year so my worry probably should be more placed on him.
