Swayman’s agent denies Neely’s $64M claim | Bruins Beat

Tensions seem to be running high behind the scenes of the Boston Bruins.   1. I counted 4788 times they said if the Bruins lied, they seem pretty convinced that they lied. I know you guys are around the players a lot more than management, but Jesus Christ can we get some objectivity?

  4. Whether or not Neely was lying the offer is now public knowledge………..Time for Sway to fish or cut bait because I honestly don't think the Bruins are upping this offer.

  8. I think his agent is screwing him over and trying to pad his pay out for when Sway gets a deal. Its on the level of the goalies who signed this year.

  10. As stated in this video it would make zero sense for Neely to embellish or lie about what has been offered to Swayman through his agent. Neely is not new to his job either. If there is any glimmer of truth to it being a lie on his part then he has to lose his job and the Bruins will have issues moving forward with signings etc.
    I think this agent took it upon himself to form that reply because #1 he may never have passed that offer on to Swayman and/or #2 fan reaction to Swayman not accepting ANY contract that had 64 million in it was wholly negative.
    At the end of the day it makes zero sense for Neely to be lying in this spot yet very plausible some greedy agent was trying to be clever and secure a bigger payday for himself.
    All that aside I think Korpisalo is capable of being our #1 and Bussi or DiPietro need to step up and make the leap to the NHL. Sign Swayman, great, If not..oh well..try to get best deal we can for him from a league that KNOWS we HAVE to move him LOL

  15. I say trade his rights to a KHL team. Heck pay for two one way tickets to Russia; one for Swayman, one for Gross. Hear it’s a great place to live and play ✈️😉

  16. there is really only one possibility with a likely probability. The Bruins made that offer, otherwise why would Neely put it out there, it clearly was on purpose and they are frustrated. Maybe to the point where they feel the agent did not present it to Swayman, and the Bruins want him to know it, thereby adding pressure for Swayman to tell his agent to accept it, or have him fired. Now everything up to this point seems plausible, however the agent now claims he never received such an offer, i. covering his own ass ii. Swayman saw the offer and wants out.
    If it's the former and not the latter I don't get how a professional athlete does not very specifically instruct his agent to show him every offer, over a certain amount, i.e. his min. or especially when negotiations are in the later stages.

  17. As Big John said in Days of Thunder, "Now y all heard of a Japanese inspection? You see, when the Japs get a load of lettuce they're not sure they want to let in the country, why they will just let it sit there on the dock 'til they get get good and ready to look at. But then of course, it's all gone rotten….ain't nothing left to inspect." You see lettuce is a perishable item much like Swayman and greed and there isn't a market at this point to get good value in return trading him. Let him sit the the year because 8×8 is already too much for a goalie who has played 40ish games one season and his save percentage dropped significantly that year. P.S. I am a B's fan.
