  1. The Hurricanes lost Pesce, Skjei, Terraveinan, and Noesen. They lost their second pair, but replaced it with an equally good pairing with Chatfield and Orlov. Walker and Ghosisbeher is a fantastic 3rd pair to have. They also picked up Roslovic and some other depth scorers, which is what Terraveinan and Noesen were. The Hurricanes still have their young stars who are just going to get better this year. Jarvis, Necas, Aho, and Svechnikov gives them two fantastic scoring top lines. The ONLY question is 2nd line center, and people are acting like it's all over for the Hurricanes because of that. Wtf

Hurricanes are easily as good as they have been, if not better with Kochetkov and their young forwards just improving with time. This is essentially the same team that went to quadruple OT with the Panthers and had OT in every game that series, and this is the same team that went toe to toe against the Rangers and were plagued with bad reffing calls that whole series. This is the same team just with more experience for their top scorers.

  2. The 2nd line is Necas, Kotkeniemi, and Svechnikov.

1st line is likely going to be Roslovic, Aho, and Jarvis. Rod does the scoring in pairs with a forward in the mix who can complement the scorers. Aho can do it all and will be like a kid in a candy shop with Roslovic and Jarvis there. Necas, KK, and Svechnikov are all big bodies who play fast, where Necas and Svech are the skilled scorers and KK is the guy infront of the net who can also cover on defense.

The talks of Necas wanting a trade are also rumors. Necas himself has said he's been wanting to stay in Carolina, it was just a matter of getting paid the right amount.
