NJ Devils With A Much NEEDED Win against Anaheim Ducks / Nico Hischier Leading The League In Goals!
The New Jersey Devils losers of the last 4 games, needed a big win last night and got one against the Anaheim Ducks. With the Metropolitan Division lead getting tight with the New York Rangers a point behind the Devils needed this win and got it by a 6-2 score.
There its fell behind early, but with goals by Jack Hughes, Stefan Noesen with 2 goals, Paul Cotter, Nico Hischier and Erik Haula. The Devils had a hot 2nd period and were able to win this game. With a Western Conference trip next, can the Devils keep it up against the Vancouver Canucks next?

Boy oh boy did they need that outcome or what? When they play this well.. anything is possible 🎉 Nico is on fire 🔥 the Nose too 😂 LFGD 💥
The contribution of Noesen, the player he is now 💪 I don't recognize him from our dark days. So happy for Nico! I hope they can keep playing like this because they are like 2 different teams at this moment.
Devils feast on some Duck a l'orange! 😋
Nico is gonna win the Selke this year!
Noeson on the PP was a sneaky great move by keefe he’s a presence we need out there
Feels exactly like last year … hope the goaltending figure it out cause this is a shit show. I've never been a huge fan of markstrom but was happy when he arived as it was a probable upgrade. I get he's a very streaky goalie but damn man. It's not all on him but felt he's given up a lot of soft goals. Defence needs to improve but I think time and more game time for pesce will help this… hopefully.
Too soon to rip on goaltending. 5 of 8 quality starts from Markstrom. 2 of 3 quality starts from Allen. Everyone is looking at recent games and not the whole and projecting what happened last season with different goalies to a small sample size. It is true that goaltending has been the weak link this far this season, but it's too soon to worry too much even with Rogalski the goalie regression machine still employed here.
My take is Keefe is a better coach than we’ve had in a while. You can only go out and execute the game plan. The more they play under him the more consistent they will be.
Nico is much better from his early days. He’s been in the weight room and is stronger on the puck and harder to move.
Goaltending and defense need improvement. That Tampa loss was real rough. This w was important but I dont want to get excited for unrealistic possibilities.
It was 4-1 Devils after the 2nd period. Hischier's goal made it 5-1.
Also, the Devils really gave it to Anaheim in the 2nd period! That's the best period that the Devils had so far this season!
