Why Jalen Suggs is key to Orlando Magic’s offensive revival

The Orlando Magic’s extreme shooting woes showed up again in their loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. While fatigue from the team’s road-heavy early schedule played a factor, the Magic’s weaknesses continue to be apparent. Especially their inability to attack downhill outside of Franz Wagner.

That puts all the attention on Jalen Suggs to step into the role of creator. That is a role he has struggled with since Paolo Banchero’s injury. He has struggled too with his shot without Banchero setting him up. It is all part of the problem for the Magic’s offense and why they are better with Banchero.

  2. F.Wagner is and should be high volume shooter…what happens when Paolo comes back?…the 2 shooters we added..haven't made a big diff…KCP and Da SILVA who doesn't play enough or shoot enough!

Btw, you always fail to mention Mo is usually the only one above 50 percent field goal percentage and the only one to take good shots on a team that somehow might be worst scoring team than teams in the 1960-70s. And tonight was more evident if you have been watching which I question sincerely.

  10. Suggs and AB need to work on their midrange and be more aggressive driving rather than jacking up so many 3’s. We’re not the warriors, that’s never going to be the winning formula

  11. First of all I’m not a fan of the twin towers. Seems like we’re grinding our offense to a snails pace. Speaking of a snails pace is it just me or am I having a flashback with Victor Oladipo dribbling the air out of the ball when Franz is doing the same? Might help going back to a more conventional lineup and Franz has to include the other 4 on the floor.

  15. As much as i love Jalen (he's pure heart and hustle), would you trade him plus Cole, Wendell , Garry and others for a different guard ie De'Aaron Fox, Dennis Schroder? So sad to suggest, i know however, shooting inconsistency, perimiter control and turnovers are becoming concerning, in my opinion with Jalen. So sad to say, as he's my fave Magic player, but we need way more control and creativity at PG. I'd keep KCP at 2 and bring in an out and out PG, giving KCP more spacing. Feel like $hit saying it, but it may be time.
