Obviously this helps their team, and it's a good landing spot for Burnes, but I'm wondering how much of this deal was motivated by wanting to show the state that they're there to win and compete in order to increase their odds of getting public funding on repairs to Chase Field or a new Stadium

Man, I love you guys but Trevor constantly refusing to admit the Dodgers have a market advantage due to their size and the massive population in the area that enabled them to create a higher tier TV deal is getting old. We get it, you're a west coast boy lol. But he knows it's not Angels fans making those statements, and in the past he's claimed there's no difference in market size advantage when talking about teams like the Cardinals (where St Louis' population is something like a whopping 350k). 20. Regarding trev’s comment about the dodgers and his question about the backup catcher for the dodgers. We have dalton rushing one of our top prospects in our farm whose main position is catcher. He has been doing a lot of work in the outfield as our starting catcher for the next decade will be will smith but he will definitely be the backup and a great one at that. Also regarding Barnes, as long as kershaw is with us Austin Barnes will be a dodger.
