7. something to note about the contract is that the no trade clause is only there for the first 2 years and the contract is VERY backloaded, there is a lot of incentive for him to opt-into the final 4 years of the contract. The main thing he gives up with opting in is that there is no longer a full no trade clause for the final 4 years, which means that the opt-out is more for the diamondbacks so that after he opts into the final 4 years we are able to trade him should it be absolutely necessary, although there will still be a partial no trade clause for the final 4 years. the likelihood of us trading him in year 5 or 6 of this contract is much higher than him opting out after year 2 to chase that bag since he already took a discount to come here, he wants to be in arizona, if he wanted the bag and nothing else then he could have gotten it elsewhere.

8. This isn't the same without Derek and Jesse. I love Damon, but AllCity destroyed the best show on PHNX.
