  1. When I played this used to happen backwards. If I was out pitching and the ump was doing a terrible job, between innings I would say to my catcher “Second batter 3rd pitch”.

    He knew that meant I was throwing at the ump on that particular pitch and he needed to look like we got crossed up on what pitch was coming. Doing it like that made it look it wasn’t intentional
