Big MLB news! The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a major move by trading longtime infielder Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds. In return, the Dodgers receive promising minor league outfielder Mike Sirota and a valuable competitive balance pick in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Gavin Lux, 27, has been with the Dodgers since his MLB debut in 2019, posting a career batting average of .252 with 28 home runs and 155 RBIs. After missing the entire 2023 season due to a torn ACL, Lux bounced back in 2024 with a .251 average, 10 home runs, and 50 RBIs. Now, he heads to the Reds as a versatile infielder who can play second base, shortstop, and even outfield.

On the other side of the trade, Mike Sirota, 21, brings tremendous potential to the Dodgers’ farm system. A standout from Northeastern University, Sirota was selected by the Reds in the third round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He earned first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors and was recognized as a third-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

For the Reds, Lux provides immediate depth and versatility, while the Dodgers continue to build for the future with Sirota and a draft pick that could help shape their roster in the years to come.
