Will Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid be fined for his elbow on Marcus Johansson?
Connor McDavid found himself at the center of controversy during the Oilers’ 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild. The superstar delivered an elbow to Marcus Johansson, leaving fans debating whether it was intentional or just a hard play gone wrong.
Adding fuel to the fire, Johansson sold the hit with an extreme dive, but no penalty was called on the play.
Now the question is: will McDavid face supplemental discipline and receive the maximum $5,000 fine from the NHL?

don't care about the strength of the blow it's an elbow to the head suspension territory not fine teritory
Yeah I agree it needed to be a penalty against 97 but it did look like he over acted not saying it didn't hurt but to react to lay down like you got hit major, like he wasn't bleeding idk that's just me

Shouldn't be a suspension. Should've been a penalty.
But it also might be the single lightest elbow I've ever seen.
Mcdavid did bring his elbow up a bit as he stole Johanssons stick, but the theatrics of Jo are stupid. He should also get penalized fir trying to sell that "injury".
The kick on Draisaitl was a kick to the shin. That was intentional.

I watch him do it to Bratt on the devils. Last year he did it to Hischier too. I only see him play twice a year and watch him throw elbows.

Nobody is talking about Browns sucker punch to Trenins head. He should be suspended for that.
This is what will make McDavid to be reminded as an Marchand or Tkachuk instead of be reminded as the fairest and the best hockey player. He needs to think different when its so much children who look up to him.
